Jen flipped the card over. She read it, covering her mouth in shock to silence her scream. "Hippo snout," it read.
"No, no, no! Ho-how will I eat, how will I tal—mmmmph!" she stuttered as the transformation kicked in. Jen pulled her hand away immediately as she felt the lower half of her face go warm and numb, the transformation setting in. She watched through tear-filled eyes as her head bulged out unnaturally, her lower vision shrinking and shrinking at the mercy of the curse. She felt her mouth grow, new teeth pushing out of her gums, old ones growing and changing as her cheeks bulged. Within the minute, though, it was over, and feeling returned to Jen's changed face. She could no longer see anything but pink-tinged grey snout filling the lower half of her vision, but that could only partially prepare her for the change. She tried to stand up, noticing immediately how heavy her new mouth was. She had to lean back slightly just to balance out her new head as she stumbled over to her mirror.
Jen walked slowly over to her mirror, trying her best to dodge stray clothing and notebooks with her compromised vision. She tried looking down, only to feel her new chin press into her bosom, alerting her to just how large her new face was. When she got to the mirror, she instinctively tried to cover her scream again, but only succeeded in ramming her hand unpreparedly into her new jaw. She cried as she saw her reflection; a perfectly normal girl stood before her. Perfectly normal, that is, save for the gigantic hippopotamus muzzle occupying the lower half of her face. After a few moments the shock wore off, and she took in her new form.
Her body was still perfectly normal save for the bottom half of her face, which had grown substantially. Where mere moments ago she had a normal, attractive human face now sat the monstrous visage of a wild hippo. She felt around it, the sheer size amazing her. Jen opened her mouth slowly, watching as it rose in her vision, eventually filling it. She could no longer see in front of herself with her mouth open, her vision instead full of her lightly haired hippo nose, so she turned slightly to the side. Her eyes bulged as she laid eyes on her new teeth; they were large, dotting her new expanded gums. She was also amazed at just how large her new mouth was—she estimated she could fit an entire watermelon in her new mouth, and it stretched open far farthern than her old one. She also noticed that her new, larger nose gave her an enhanced sense of smell—the yogurt her mom was eating downstairs wafted to her expanded nostrils, along with a number of other aromas. She closed her new mouth with authority, marveling at just how powerful it now felt, but a question still lingered in her mind, one that she would confront once the novelty of her hippo mouth wore off: what will her life be like now? and what, she thought in terror, will tomorrow bring?
First, though, she needed breakfast. A growing girl needs to eat, especially one that now has to contend with the mouth of an adult hippo. But in order to do that, she has to put on clothes. Jen realized with horror that her new mouth would not fit her t-shirts, but she did spy an off-shoulder top that would probably fit. She squeezed it on, almost getting it stuck on her new maw, but it fit over it if only barely. She then got the rest of the way dressed, getting used to her increased head mass. After getting her hair ready, taking a few more minutes to adjust to her new reflection, she headed downstairs slowly, feeling each stair out so as to not trip. After what felt like a millennium of stairs, she sauntered ready into the kitchen.
"Good morning!" she tried to say, though the noises which exited her mouth matched only a poor hippo's attempt at human communication. Her mom looked up from her yogurt, patting Jen's muzzle and returning her good morning.
Jen walked over to the fridge, pulling out an apple. She decided to try out her new mouth, and placed it carefully—whole— into her waiting maw. She closed her mouth, feeling her changed mouth crush the apple to mush in only a few, somewhat messy bites—no more eating with her mouth closed with this beautiful mouth, that's for sure! She then got the rest of the way ready for school, fetching her backpack and shoes, and gave her mom the closest equivalent to a forehead good-bye kiss that a girl with a massive hippo muzzle can muster. She was relieved her mom thought nothing of her new form, glad that the curse was kind enough to her to spare her horrified ridicule for her new form. Now, though, she had to contend with school, and she had no idea what awaited her there...

Jen now has:
- A hippopotamus muzzle replacing her human face from the eyes down.
