Alyvia flew through the air casually, still feeling the afterglow of her private show when she heard glass breaking. Curious, she banked left and found herself hovering in front of a large building, the sign said Sleeping Dragon Inn. On the ground a minotaur was groaning as he got to his feet, his hooves breaking some glass shards he stepped on. He rubbed his head and looked back in the broken window. "Aw man, she can really hit." He staggered back in the front door, rubbing his head.
A group of 5 people walked back out the front door, a curious collection to say the least. A heavily tattooed half-elf, a winged naga creature, a catfolk, a minotaur with a curious bulge under her robe, and a human sized pixie with antlers. "Did I miss a group of potions," she whispered to herself. She turned invisible and got closer to listen in on them.
"I still don't see why you got so violent with that Paladin in there, a simple punch would have sufficed," Freed said to the Celine.
"Fuck those pricks, he probably had it coming," Celine spat.
"Geeze! Tough subject?"
"I don't like how they act all high and mighty, and can't leave people alone. They're just the kingdom's attack dogs."
"What happened," Mai asked.
"Her village, which had always kept to itself in the southern plains, was told to pay taxes for living in the area. Even though they'd never had to before. When they refused, the king sent a pair of paladins to 'change their mind's'," Eva answered after Celine didn't answer.
"Me and my mother and the few survivors were forced to join another, more 'loyal' tribe as practically slaves. I was discovered to have some magical talent and was sent off here," Celine finished.
"So what will you be doing this summer," asked Freed.
"Staying at the school studying. If I get enough skill, I might be able to challenge the tribe chieftain for leadership. Then life will improve for us. And no you can't help, this is a matter for me to solve."
"Okay, got it. Change of subject real quick. I noticed you didn't completely dismiss the disguise spell today," Vesper said.
"A girl's gotta keep some secrets. Keeps them guessing, and no one knows i can fly so i have a back up plan."
"Speaking of secrets, I didn't expect Lelu's mom to be such a brawler, or even Lelu to join like she did. What ever made our timid friend come out of her shell, I want some," Eva remarked, flexing her arms.
'Interesting,' Alyvia tapped her chin thoughtfully. 'She may join willingly. I just need to give her a push in the right direction. Just a slight nudge.' She followed a the group silently until they split off and went in different directions, learning as much as she could. 'I've got to pay a few people a visit.' And she flew off.
