The Magic Shop

A new threat

added by O 4 years ago O Reality alteration

Morgan’s Magic Shop had been vacant since her downfall, despite this it remained in pristine condition. As the door swung open three women now entered, gloomily looking over the interior.

“I can not believe she actually opened this place to try and compete with Merlin,” a middle aged woman with light brown hair scoffed.

“Jealous Lilith,” a younger looking woman with an olive complexion smirked.

Lilith turned, narrowing her eyes at the woman who had spoke. “Not at all Circe,” she said flatly. “Just astounded that a sister of ours would resort to such....pettiness, to compete with a rival.”

Lilith slowly walked to the counter glancing at the various object the former sorceress had left behind. “Transformed into a mortal infant,” she scoffed. “A mortal. It doesn’t matter she has kept her powers, she has lost her memories, her essence. She has tipped the scales towards the light. We must correct this imbalance.”

“So we eat the child,” an ancient crone croaked. Lilith turned towards the ancient woman, sighing in annoyance. “No Baba were not eating the child,” she groaned. “Why is that your solution for everything? Eat them.”

Baba Yaga simply shrugged as she limped to join Lilith. “We do what is in our nature,” she stated. “Circe transform people to animals, you refuse to yield, I eat children.”

Lilith sighed as she gazed at her sisters, she was beginning to regret asking for their assistance however realized she would need the help if she were to rebalance the scales. Turning she now looked to Circe who was gazing at Morgan’s crystal ball. “Circe what does your niece say about Morgan’s future and her parents?”

“Well,” Circe started. “From the future Medea foresees the girl growing up to be a beacon of light. A force for good in the world. A child who will do anything to appease her parents. To put it in Medea’s words, she’s going to be a bit of a dork. A very pretty dork but a dork none the less.”

“Young people and their slang,” Lilith muttered as she now turned to the crystal ball. As she gazed at it she was able to see what was occurring in the two timelines Morgan had been so obsessed with. In Kellies timeline she saw Merlin’s daughter Kellie happily enjoying a day at the beach with her regressed sister Ann and her girlfriend Jackie. The group of teens seeemd quite happy as they watched two young auburn haired girls happily splash on the beach.

“I still find it impossible that this girl could possibly bring down Morgan,” Baba stated in wonder as she watched Kellie. “She was reborn as a daughter of Merlin,” Lilith said. “She is quite skilled in the magical arts. What worries me most is her and Merlin’s influence in the other timeline. They’ve tipped the scales in their favor, something I’m not exactly thrilled with.”

“So should we eat her instead,” Baba Yaga asked staring at Kellie.

“No eating,” Lilith exclaimed. “Besides between her power and her daughters you would not last long in a fight.” Lilith now swiped a finger at the crystal ball. The image of Kellie and her sister faded as a new image came into focus. Lilith frowned as she saw Katie and her family happily enjoying Lisa’s babyshower. “See this is the problem,” she stated pointing a finger at the image. “The timelines have almost merged at this point. Kellie is able to exist in both timelines. That type of thing creates paradoxes that could shatter the fabric of reality or create a world where the light overpowers the dark.”

Lilith gazed intently at Katie as she cradled the infant Morgan in her arms. As she watched the girl as well as Kellies interactions with her own mother an idea began to form in her mind. “Children,” she whispered.

“What about them,” Circe asked, slightly confused.

Lilith turned towards Circe and Baba Yaga an impish smile spreading across her face. “Morgan was going about this all wrong,” Lilith said quietly. “She tried to destroy this family, something as we’ve seen led to her downfall.”

“So what would you suggest then,” Baba Yaga asked. “How do we use children to balance the scales.”

“Simple,” Lilith stated. “We gather children of our own.”

Baba Yaga and Circe gazed curiously atnLilithnas she now explained. “Merlin has gone out of his way to position himself with an army of light,” she said. “I suggest we find our own children. Children that would strengthen the darkness and bring balance once more, and I know the perfect one to start with.”

Baba and Circe watched as Lilith now focused the crystal balls image on a man none of them had ever seen before. “Who is that,” Circe asked. Lilith smiled as she gazed at the middle aged lawyer. “That,” she said. “Is the girl Katie’s birth father and the former husband of Kellie. I think it’s time he meets his daughter and gets reacquainted with Kellie.”

Baba Yaga and Circe smiled wickedly as they gazed at the middle aged man, they were about to do what Merlin had done years earlier. Take a mortal as their own. How he would react once he was reduced to a teen in his former wife’s high school and meeting his daughter would surely lead to quite a bit of chaos.
