April had found the perfect thing to do for Garrett! She knew what she wanted to do, but how to do it?
She thought for a minute, then said, "Ok, here's what I'm thinking..."
Garrett was on his walk, trying to make sense of all that had just happened, when he found himself pausing in front of the football field.
Sometimes he wished he were like those players. He admired their dedication to their sport. Unfortunately, at 4'2" tall, 75 pounds, and pale white skin, he was tiny and thin, even for age 10, with plain features. He was frequently bullied for his size and had few friends.
Little did he know...
"Hey, kid!" yelled David Haskell, the wide receiver. He was a bigger guy, at age 16, 180 pounds, and 6'1" tall.
Garrett looked up. Me? he thought.
"Yeah, you! You want to throw sone balls to us?"
Garrett dashed over, eager to please. He was soon surrounded by tight end Jimmy Pearson, runningback Wyatt Orwell, and David.
"Now, just throw that ball as hard as you can. Jimmy, Wyatt and I will all try to catch it. Got it?"
Garrett nodded. They started running. As he pulled back to throw, he felt a surge of strength flow through him. He threw the ball very far.
As it flew through the air, Garrett began to change. He arched his back and legs as they lengthened, his hair turned golden, his face morphed, his muscles swelled.
Jimmy caught the ball. "Beat ya, suckers!" he cried.
They all turned back and looked at Garrett. But they didn't see Garrett Trimble, 10-year-old bullying victim, thin and mousy.
Instead, they saw Garrett Trimble, 16-year-old quarterback for the Denton Wildcats, biggest hunk in the school, and the fourth member of their group, a childhood friend. He was also April Trimble's twin, an added bonus.
"Nice catch!" he yelled back in a baritone voice, flashing a sexy grin.
They all grouped up together.
"I got that modeling job I was looking at last weekend," he said.
"Well, who wouldn't want a piece of that, my friend?" said Wyatt, gesturing at Garrett's toned body.
They all walked off together, continuing to banter and jest with each other.
"Mission accomplished," said April, smiling.
