Tom won the draw, slightly relieved to be able to take control of the situation.
"Alright, since I won, ill take the box for now and hide it, we can decide later what to do with it."
Eric, ever the sore loser, smirked but figured he knew all of Tom's hiding places so he might sneak it back soon enough.
Kris was both relieved and a little disappointed, it was exciting but also she knew the dangers.
Dave was just happy nobody got hurt, but he still was curious and made a mental note to research this RGNX later and see if he could find anything.
Tom left to hide the box, making sure none of his friends followed him. He went to the house and up to his room, and hid the box under his bed inside an old toy box they rarely got out anymore. Then returned to the group, they enjoyed the rest of the day together, though Eric was noticeably bullying Tom a bit more than the usual, clearly showing his dislike in the outcome.
Later than night, Tom was getting fed up with Eric's constant annoyance, but he knew better than to start anything and escalate the problems when their parents were around. Eric was good at twisting situations into his favor in the eyes of their parents. He just wanted to make it through supper and then he would be free to go to his room and Eric would probably be over it by the next day.
Supper went peaceful enough, but it was Tom's turn to put the dishes in the dishwasher, delaying his plans a bit. After he finished he started to head towards his room, he went through the den on the way to tell his parents good night, they were watching the news.
His parents wanted to have a chat, they had noticed Eric's behavior was slightly more... well Eric and wanted to make sure all was alright.
Tom diffused the situation and told them all was okay, it was just a little disagreement they had playing today. He knew Eric would only be worse if he told on him. Just as he was done talking to them and started to leave the room the news was cutting to commercial and they teased the next story...
"RGNX trials have setbacks, new owners talk plans for future research. We discuss what it is, what it is supposed to be, and why they are so interested in perfecting this new drug, more after the break."
