Before Cathy could say anything else, her eyes glanced to the TV in front of the couch.
"M-M-M-Moonlight madness!" A commercial announced, cutting to a cloudy full moon and cheesy 50's font bleeding down the screen.
My mouth fell agape and I heard Cathy audibly gasp. Her eyes went wide on the couch, she stared at the fleeting image of the moon. Of the familiar craters and shadows. Her hand shot out to mind and grabbed it tight in her palm. I saw tiny barely visible hairs of gold erupt from the top of her palm. I felt her muscle beneath straining, trying to grow. Her knuckles visibly bulged. Her forearm and wrist tightened.
"Uh, you know..." Cathy gulped. "I'm really not feeling so good all of a sudden. We'll have to do this another time." Her hand began to tremble. I felt her starting to lose control. Her biceps bulged under her sweater. The waist band of her jeans tugged tight and dug into growing hips. Her hand gripped mine harder.
"Oh, is there-" My mom started, but Cathy was already on her feet and heading for the door. She was awkwardly hunched over, trying to hide the inch of extra height she'd put on. If you were really looking her muscles were growing.
"J-James..." Cathy grunted. "Help me to my car. Quickly, James."
Ignoring my mom completely, we left the apartment and I helped Cathy stagger into the hall. She hadn't even managed to get her shoes on.
"Fuuuuuuuuck." Cathy moaned, trying not to make much noise. She fell against the building wall and gasped as she tried to hold the wolf in. She was fighting against her own flesh. The hairs on her hands began to grow longer and thicker. Sprouts of golden fur erupted from the sleeves of her sweater. The corners of her ears grew pointed. Her teeth sharpened, fangs emerging from a distorted mouth.
"No, no!" Cathy growled, her bulk increasing, her muscular curves swelling, her abs growing into a hard six pack. She was increasing in size little by little. A losing battle. "J-James!" She drooled through clenched teeth. "Get me... out of..."
"Come on, Cathy. Down to the garage." I grabbed her huge thick hand and pulled her with me. The lumbering woman hunched from her straining clothes and growing body but followed my lead to the elevator.
I looked behind me and was startled to see a beastly woman with huge powerful shoulders and inflating proportions, teeth growing, face starting to push. She was so big. And strong. We were in my mom's apartment! I had to help her!
Deftly, I hit the elevator button and turned to Cathy, grabbing her straining expanding waist.
"Hey!" I slapped her face, earning a growl. The woman winced and seemed to snap to attention.
"No! James! No!" She whimpered, almost in tears. "I can't keep her in! Why can't I keep her in?"
She grew more beastial, her fur thickened. Wolf Cathy popped and groaned, the seams of her pants starting to give and thick gold fur emerging.
"Concentrate!" I commanded, holding the poor woman close. "Please. Don't change. Not here. Not now."
"C-Can't..." Cathy growled, voice deepening, clothes ripping, body growing. She was halfway there. Huge, clawed, fanged, my golden wolf goddess emerging. I could see Cathy's expression twist into the realization of pure horror. "I CAN'T STOP HER! NOT THIS TIME! Oh God, James... I'm..."
I gasped as the elevator door swung open and I swung us around inside. The door closed and I slammed the basement button as Cathy stood in the corner, losing her humanity, growing in size. Well past six feet tall, her build had grown to a bodybuilder state. Still, she was expanding and pressing out, her face furred and inhuman. Her muzzle pushing out.
"Too... late." Cathy snarled. "Cathy... going..."
"Your name!" I said suddenly. "What's your name?"
"Fang!" Cathy snarled, growing and growing, shredding her clothing as the elevator lurched downward. She was nearly gone.
"Fang, please!" I said nervously. "Let Cathy come back. I promise I'll let you out after, we..."
A hand with the strength of 8 men slammed into my throat and crushed my breath from my windpipe.
A huge snarling werewolf in tattered human clothing snarled visciously.
"NO!" The wold growled. "FANG NOT GO BACK! NEVER AGAIN! JAMES LET WOLF OUT! WOLF STAY!"
What happened next sent cold shivers down my spine. The golden werewolf finished her growth and released the death grip on my throat, leaving me gasping on the floor of the elevator as it dinged and the doors opened into a dingy parking garage. "Fang must eat." The wolf growled, almost smiling as she licked her muzzle.
"Please, no!" I held my hands up in horror, nearly in tears.
"You friend." The wolf snarled, almost in annoyance, before falling down on all fours and flying out the elevator with a beastly howl.
Barely able to breath, my neck bruised and turning blue and yellow, I watched helplessly as the massive creature pounded through the parking garage. I looked at the ring, broke into a warm sweat of panic, and managed to make it out of the elevator, staggering, just as the werewolf threw down a screaming middle aged man and lunged for his throat.
