Kellie could only hang her head as she looked between her friends and her phone. She had failed, Jack was sincere in his desire to see his daughter. Worse now she may have escalated things to a point that may have put everyone in danger.
"Mom are you okay?"
Kellie turned towards her daughter, a look of despair on her face. "No," she said sadly. "No, I'm not. I let my feelings for Jack cloud my judgement. I'm, I'm so sorry."
Katie looked at her mother, a look of concern on the college girls face. Katie's mind was still muddled by the fact that her father existed. She thought back to times in her life she had wondered about who her dad was. Kellie had never mentioned the man and judging by the look on her face the relationship between them could be described as strained at best. Kellie didn't have the best perspective for dealing with Jack, meaning that if Katie was going to keep everyone safe she would need to be the one to try.
"Mom," she said. "I get why you wanted to stop my dad but if we're going to keep things from getting out of hand I need to go."
Kellie watched as her daughter now turned in the direction Jack had gone, her friends gaping at her.
"Katie what the hell," Claudia exclaimed. "You cant be serious about this can you?"
"I am Claudia," she responded. Mika and the other Kellie looked at one another before quickly running after their friend. "Then we're coming with you," they said.
Lilith and her family had already put quite a bit of distance between themselves and Kellie. The witch was overjoyed at the fact that Merlin and Kellie had tried to make a move against them. Their actions had strengthened Jack and the others resolve. They now understood that Kellie and the others would do anything to take them out. "Now my son," Lilith thought with a smirk. "You shall claim your destiny and strengthen the darkness." As she turned her head she was shocked to see four college age women now materialize in front of them.
Katie and the others had used their teleportation technique to find Jack and the others. As they now stood before them Katie was confident she could pave things over with her father, the others though weren't so much.
"This is nuts Kat," Claudia hissed. "They knocked us on our ass without moving a muscle and now they look super pissed."
"I have to try," Katie stated. "Hope you know what your doing," Mika groaned. "But we'll trust you for now." Katie nodded, stepping forward as she looked at the angry teenage boy. "Dad," she said softly. "I'm, I'm sorry about mom. She's...shes just being over protective."
"Overprotective," Jack said angrily. "More like selfish. She didn't even want to give me a chance. All I wanted was to talk." Katie could only sigh as she was about to say something she noticed Lexie and Maaya step forward, a malicious smile spreading across their lips as they began to transform into their demonic forms.
"I'm going to enjoy sucking the life from your body," Maaya smirked as her wings sprung from her back. Lexie giggled, showing her needle like teeth to the four college girls. "Save some for me Maaya," she chuckled. "I want to use their bones as toothpicks."
Katie and the others looked horror struck as the two demons now slowly descended on them. Katie and their friends realized what danger they were in as they anxiously looked at one another. What happened next though truly surprised them.
"What are you doing," Jack exclaimed as he looked between Maaya and Lexie. "Ending them," Lexie spat. Jack's eyes glowed red as he grabbed the two of them by the throats, lifting them off the ground in a choke.
"No," he raged, his eyes glowing blood red. "Kellie, Merlin and there friends yes. This though is my daughter. YOU WILL NOT LAY A FINGER ON HER!!!!"
Maaya and Lexie gasped for breath as they tried to pry Jack's iron grip from their throats. Yelling in anger Jack tossed the two demons back at least twenty feet, watching as they crumpled in a heap. "Touch her and I will make sure your suffering is eternal," he screamed.
Lilith had watched her sons actions with interest. Truly the boys power was great as he was able to easily subdue both an imp and succubus. However, his daughter could prove troublesome. Jack obviously cared for this girl. She was his only weakness, a weakness that could be exploited at some point. She watched now as Jack turned once more to Katie and her friends, his eyes still glowing with murderous intent.
"D..dad," Katie stammered.
Jack breath came in shallow gasps as he tried to regain his composure. "I'm fine," he spat. "As long as I exist I won't let anything happen to you. Your mother may not believe it but I do want to know you Katie. I want to make up for lost time."
Katie could only stare in silence at the young warlock. It boggled her mind that someone so full of darkness could show even a little bit of compassion. She thanked the teen quietly as she watched him approach. Katie was about to have the oddest father daughter reunion of all time.
