Nate made it just as the knob was beginning to turn, pushing the door shut and leaned against the door with the weight of his newly morphed dog body.
"All right, all right, sheesh. Let your dinner get cold. See if I care." He heard his brother on the other side of the door walk away and head back downstairs. Nate pressed the button locking the door and then jumped up onto his bed and waited patiently for the latest transformation to wear off. As he laid there, he began to wonder if this was only ever going to happen at the most inopportune times? Probably, was the conclusion he came to. And tomorrow he had a report to give at school. He couldn't help but cringe at the thought of transforming into a over-sized sheepdog in front of his entire class. It would make sense that something like that would happen. He started wondering if he should have Kathryn take the spell off early.
Soon enough the transformation wore off again as he once again shifted from dog to boy. He let out a sigh of relief as he gave himself a one over in the mirror to make sure he was back to normal before heading back downstairs. He walked back into the kitchen and his mom looked up from the magazine she was flipping through on the counter.
"There you are! We kept the pizza warm for you. Where did you go?"
"I had just remembered I had to email my part of a group project for school tomorrow. Figured I better do it now while I was thinking of it." Nate sat down at the table alongside his brother while his Mother brought in the pizza.
"Well, that was nice of you." She opened the pizza box and set it on the table. All three dug in.
Later that night, as Nate retired to bed, he laid down and began to think back over the past couple of days. All his life he had fantasized about transforming and now he was able to. He had been a werewolf for a night and now he would randomly turn into a sheepdog. He had to admit it was exciting and that out weighed any worries he had about other people finding out. He just hoped Kathryn was good at memory spells. He rolled over and went to sleep as he knew tomorrow was going to be a big day.
