Rick was too preoccupied with the changes to reality they had been making to notice his mistake. His hand wasn't on the button for picture taking, but rather the switch for awareness selecting. Rick raised the camera to snap a picture of an old couple nearby, but had no idea what he was about to do.
"Ok, I'm gonna change that old couple over there." Rick told Emily.
Emily laughed. "Ok go, and make sure you tell me what changes ok?" She asked.
Rick nodded and aimed back at the old couple by a bench. Rick hit the switch and suddenly felt weird. He held is head and managed to refocus his thoughts. "What... what was I doing again?" He said as he looked around. He was in a mall but he couldn't remember why he was there. He turned around and immediately perked up as he saw he was with his girlfriend, Emily.
"Oh! Hey babe!" He excitedly greeted Emily. Emily was blinking rapidly but stopped and smiled.
"Hi Rick. Um, hey this is gonna sound weird but... do you know how we got here?" She asked.
Rick thought for a minute. "I... remember driving over here and walking around the mall, but I don't remember why."
Emily thought too and then she spotted the camera. "Oh! Rick that old camera we found. We came here to test it out right?" She asked.
