Roy knew his first stop had to be Jessica's house... after all, the reason he'd switched roles with her was so he could get to know her better. But as he hit the streets, he realized that he had no idea where she lived. He knew she lived with her parents... after all, she was still in high school, and part-time work at the Burger Bonanza didn't exactly pay living wages. Roy didn't know Jessica's address, though. And while the device had put Roy in Jessica's life, it didn't seem to have provided him with any of Jessica's memories or personality or knowledge, or any information on how to be a girl... Roy supposed he would have to figure all that stuff out by himself. Pulling over to the side of the road, he fished through Jessica's purse until he found her driver's license. Thank you, DMV. He looked over the address... he had a sort of idea where this was. Satisfied, Roy replaced the license and continued on his way.
It took Roy some time to find his way to Jessica's house, but at last, he pulled into the driveway of her pleasant suburban two-story home. He turned off the car and began to get out... then he caught himself and reached back in for Jessica's purse. It would take him a while to get used to keeping track of this thing.
Roy tried the front door... when it didn't open, he tried the keys on Jessica's keychain until one of them fit the lock. He turned the key and the door opened, and he stepped inside.
"Hey, loser," a male voice said as Roy closed the door behind him. Roy looked around and spotted a teenage boy, maybe fifteen or sixteen, sitting on the living room couch with a game controller in his hand. This must have been Jessica's brother Steven... Roy had heard Jessica talk about him, and he knew they didn't get along.
"Hey, Steven," Roy said. He looked around the house to get his bearings... he was standing in a foyer that opened onto the living room on one side and a dining room on the other. There was a stairway directly in front of him. Roy guessed Jessica's room was up there, so he started up the stairs.
"Hey, woah," Steven said. "You know we aren't supposed to wear shoes in the house. I'll tell Mom."
Roy sighed and took off Jessica's shoes, placing them in a pile of shoes next to the door. He was so glad he didn't live with his family anymore...
Climbing the stairs, Roy saw an intimidating number of doors down the upstairs hallway. Which one of these belonged to Jessica? No way to find out except to try them all, Roy supposed, so he opened the first door down the hall. The room on the other side was dark and gloomy, messy and covered in comic books and a teenage boy's clothes... obviously Steven's room. Roy shut the door.
The next door was open already. Roy saw a girl inside, maybe eight years old, playing with a set of Barbie dolls. This must have been Jessica's sister Maggie. Maggie looked up and smiled. "Hi, Jessi!"
"Hi, Maggie," Roy said, smiling. At least the whole family wasn't antagonistic to him.
The next door was the bathroom, but Roy finally got lucky with the door after that. Jessica's room was bright and open, decorated in pink and scattered with sunlight. It was almost as much of a mess as Steven's room, but it was clearly a teenage girl's mess, with magazines on the bed and girl's clothes scattered on the floor. It wasn't super-girly, which made sense; Jessica wasn't a super-girly kind of girl. The walls were decorated with posters of female actresses and musicians, and the dresser had pictures of Jessica with her friends. There was a small vanity with a ton of makeup on it... Jessica's stash, Roy supposed, which she used liberally.
Roy sat down on the bed. So here he was, in the very heart of his crush's world. Since he was Jessica now, he had free reign to explore her room so he could learn more about her. And, he realized as he caught sight of Jessica's reflection in the vanity mirror, he had free reign to explore her body now as well. So what should he do first?
