Author's Note: I'm going to make the main character female. The other chapter didn't specify, so why not?
Becca shrugged her shoulders. The machine seemed amazing, so she had already been thinking about giving it a try. Her dignity wouldn't let her of course, but this gave her a convenient excuse to try it out. "Well, I guess I can't see the harm in it."
Dennis was surprised by your reaction. "Really? Thanks! Man, I owe you one Becky."
Becca glared at him. "It's Becca, actually."
The two of them had been working on the same project for three months now. How had he still not learned her name? Becca certainly knew his name. Dennis would have been kind of attractive, if he wasn't so full of himself. Strangely, he hadn't hit on her, which she wasn't sure was a blessing or a curse. Probably a blessing, considering some of the angry voice mails she had overheard from his past lovers. Still, it was a bit insulting. She wasn't ugly or anything. Okay, maybe she could afford to lose a few pounds, and her boobs were on the small side, but she weren't obese or unhealthy. Becca was just plain, and that was fine with her.
Becca looked back at the Face-Painting Booth. She was starting to get second thoughts about this. Getting a full body costume was seriously outside of her comfort zone.
Dennis tapped her on the shoulder. "You realize there's a hidden entrance in the back, right?"
Becca jumped slightly, but turned her attention back to the booth. Sure enough, she watched a young boy painted as Captain America come out of the booth, take a few pictures, and then run back into the booth, disappearing. A few seconds later, Becca saw what you presumed to be the young boy rejoin a group of his friends. She honestly wasn't sure though. The body paint had done a fairly good job masking his identity.
"Hey Karen, come over here." The adorable eight year-old scampered over. "My friend Becca will take a picture with you."
"Really?" Karen beamed at her, and Becca felt her heart melting. "You're gonna be my..."
