While Animalians may have the intelligence and self-awareness of humans, they still felt a connection to nature. All of the homes and buildings they've built were made ecologically-designed. So it's no wonder that Earth Day is something that Animalians promoted as much as they could. There were quite a few things being done that day to help raise humanity's awareness of the impact they have on their environment. Some of it was demonstrating ways of more efficiently reusing things. But what certainly got the most attention was the Earth Day Concert.
Canary Diamond and Aqua Marina have been big successes since they've started their musical careers. Things have quieted during the winter, but now that spring was back, they were ready to give some big performances. And a big concert at Animalia to promote environmental causes was certainly a good way to start that. But they weren't the only ones performing. Venus wasn't planning on just being a supermodel. She was also going to be a pop star under the name of New Age Venus. She most certainly had both the looks and the voice for it. Venus had building up her supermodel career, particularly during her winter in New Zerzura. But now it was time to make her musical debut.
Compared to Canary Diamond and Aqua Marina, New Age Venus was a more sensual performer. The outfit she wore showed off quite a bit of skin, and as a hairless Sphynx cat, she showed more skin than most. However, her songs were just as environmentally-minded as the others'. The three of them of them even did a rendition of Sting's 'One World (Not Three)/Love is the Seventh Wave'.

However, the only entertainment at the concert wasn't just on the stage. A visitor to Animalia, who had brought a few beers with him, had finished them off and was getting rid of them. He took one look at the recycling bin set up next to the trash and made a snort of contempt. He tossed the beer cans into the trash can next to it, a few missing the rim and landing near it.
He was about to walk away when a female voice growled, "What do you think you're doing?" The guy turned around to see a shark woman looking angrily at him. She was pretty hot, huge breasts, wide hips, big ass. Her legs would look better if they were a little less muscular. But then most of the shark's body was a little too muscular for his taste. She was also taller than he would have preferred. Her long black braid of hair told him she was formerly human.
"Just throwing my trash away," said the guy.
"Is that what you think?" snapped the shark, "You do know what today is, right?"
"Angry Shark Day?" asked the guy sarcastically.
"It's Earth Day, as in reducing waste. Aluminum cans go in recycling bins, not in the trash and especially not on the ground," said the shark.
"So? As if a few cans matter," said the litterer.
"Too many people have that same attitude," snapped the shark, "There are floating islands of garbage in the ocean because people are careless about where they throw away things. This is precisely why we have Earth Day: to remind people to be responsible."
"Will you chill? It's just a few cans. It's not the end of the world," said the litterer.
The shark loomed over the litterer and growled, something that a feral shark might not have been able to do. "Put those cans in the correct bin," she snarled.
"Uh...right.." said the litterer nervously. He quickly picked up the cans on the ground and in the trash can, put them in the recycling bin, and hurried off.
Starla walked over to the other shark and said, "Think you were a little hard on him, Moxie?"
Moxie turned to Starla and said, "What's the point in celebrating Earth Day if we let jerks just litter and throw away recyclables?"
Starla gave her a level look and asked, "What is this really about?"
Moxie sighed and said, "I've been given another chance of life and I really want to make something of it. I don't want to be remembered for doing strip teases and dancing at nightclubs."
"You still dance at nightclubs," pointed out Starla.
"Yeah, but that's mostly for fun," said Moxie, "i want to make a difference with my life, something worth remembering. And I guess a shark is more effective at getting people to clean up after themselves than an owl."
"You could sign up for that bodybuilding competition," said Starla, "You could use that to promote people being more waste-conscious."
"Isn't it a little late?" asked Moxie, "I don't have time to bulk up or train."
"Don't worry, amateurs are allowed to compete," said Starla, "Besides, I don't think you need a lot of bulking up."
"Well, I'll consider it," said Moxie before lowering her voice, "Did you film all that?"
"Yep," said Starla, holding up her phone, "This video ought to get into the top three of the next AMV."
