Kellie and the others decided it would be best if all of them went to meet Circe, a show of force would hopefully deter any actions from Circe. Still the girls took precautions, telling Merlin of their location and telling him to bring help if he did not hear from them within a couple of hours. As Kellie now pulled up to the abandoned amusement park outside of town the girls stared at it apprehensively.
“You sure this is where Circe wanted us to meet,” Katie asked as she exited the car. Mika nodded, shivering slightly as she gazed at the park. “This is the place she said in the message,” she said. “Kinda creepy though.”
“I’ll say,” Kellie grumbled. “Looks like something out of a bad slasher flick.”
“So guessing that means splitting up is out of the question,” Lisa joked. Kellie turned, furrowing her brow before smirking. “Yeah Lisa,” she said. “Seen that horror movie before, splitting up is definitely a bad idea.” Quietly the girls now approached the dilapidated front entrance, checking to see if anyone was around.
Kellie didn’t want to say anything but she caught shadows flickering in and out of sight. All of her experiences in various timelines had made the teen vigilant when entering a possibly dangerous situation. As a result she had seen things the others hadn’t. Kellie had noticed creatures flickering in and out fo the numerous shadows, watching the girls as they entered the park. Before she could get a good look at them they would vanish from sight. Kellie was on edge as a result, the creatures she had seen were not human. If she were a betting woman (and considering Circes preference for transformation) she would say they were a combination of human and animal.
“Hey there’s a note,” Samantha exclaimed, pointing to a parchment pinned to a sign just inside the park. Cautiously the girls approached, tentatively picking it up and unfolding it.
“Welcome to my amusement park” it read. “So pleased you found your way. For now though I wish to speak only with Kellie and Mika. Do not try and follow or my followers will escort you out of the park. I invite the rest of you to enjoy the wonders of my amusement park. Fear not about the parks appearance, everything is in working order. We are just in the middle of remodeling, so enjoy yourselves. Regards, Circe.”
“She’s watching us,” Mary Elise hissed as she now frantically searched for the witch. “Looks that way,” Kellie whispered.
“What does she mean by followers,” Claudia asked, her hands shaking nervously. Kellie turned towards the others, trying to give them a reassuring smile. “I’ve noticed some of her ‘folowers’ watching from the shadows. They probably want to make sure we don’t damage anything.”
“Are we safe here,” Karen asked quickly. Kellie nodded, taking her friends hand and squeezing it tightly. “Circe doesn’t want to fight,” Kellie stated. “We’re probably the only ones that can help her. If anything happens to any of you, she knows I won’t help. She also realizes that if we don’t leave here, others will come. Others that will have no problem burning this place to the ground.”
“I still don’t like it,” Katie grumbled. “We should stick together.”
As Katie finished her sentence the group could hear something crash to the ground, a series of low growl emanating from several shadowed areas. “Bad idea,” Kellie said quickly. “Circe is serious about it just being me and Mika. I’m not sure how many..things she has here, but it’s enough to cause us some serious problems.”
“So what should we do then,” Samantha asked, scanning the shadows for something that might attack.
“Stay safe,” Kellie stated. “Check out the park but be careful. Circe is all about transforming people into animals. She’s probably got all sorts of enchantments around this place.”
“Okay,” Claudia said quietly. The shy blond teen now approached her girlfriend, hugging her tightly before giving her a small kiss on the lips. “Be careful Mika.”
“You too,” Mika answered.
As Mika and Kellie proceeded into the park the others watched them go before anxiously looking around the abandoned park. While the two teens negotiated with Circe they would be tasked with finding out anything they could about Circe. Hopefully when this was over, the teens would leave exactly as they entered.
