The others had all separated inside the fiber glass cavern, being unconsciously drawn to the mirrors that would transform them into their ideal 'totem' self, as the new age retro hippies liked to call it.
Katie had come along reluctantly to make sure her friends didn't do anything foolish, but she felt the unconscious impulse, everything would be alright, she wouldn't be helpless, she wouldn't be at someone else's mercy. Being turned into a non-anthro rabbit had left a bad taste in her mouth... but maybe that was why she needed to go through with this? But these mirror would make her into the anthro animal she WANTED, or her subconscious wanted, not what she felt obliged to become... did she really want to be a naked rabbit person for an afternoon with her friends? While she knew what they said about jumping off a cliff if all your friends are doing it, all the anthro people had been reasonable and rational, and weren't under any sort of mind control magic. If it was just some harmless experience, why not share it with her friends?
Mary Elise meanwhile, couldn't have had fewer doubts... she'd practically run through the maze, bumping into a few mirrors along the way! The reflections of herself as different naked animal people happily waving her off as she continued to practically fly through. This was just so exciting! Sure, she wasn't so sure about who'd she have to thank for it, but if Circe was going to offer this as a legitimate service to people then it distracted her from helping Lilith!
Mary Elise had almost smashed through the mirror when she found it.
It was herself... but as a humanoid owl... covered in down and feathers, large circular eyes, beak, clawed hands and feet, and a set of wings on her back. And the more she looked at it, the more this was herself, not her other self. Her previous existence replaced with the one reflected in the mirror, only those like her friends knowing she'd ever been anything different.
her clothes vanished off her as quickly as she was covered by brown and white feathers. A brain of feathers shaped like horns grew, ah, she was horned owl! Her teeth combined into a beak and forward.
"Well, hey, I can talk just as well, that's good!" Her beak clicked, her feathers somehow still able to give the impression of a smile. Her eyes growing large and round. Her tail feather bloomed behind her, along with her new set of wings. Her hands and feet covered in scales ending in black claws meant for grasping. She felt lighter than ever. Her breasts didn't get bigger, if anything, they got a little bit smaller, but she found she didn't mind, it just made her a bit more aerodynamic. She turned her head around, and realized she could now look directly behind her no problem! Giving her a perfect view of her back. This was her.
"WHHOO-HOO!" She said, taking off, able to fly like she'd been practicing all her life, which to those oblivious to her change, she had been. She flew with total silence, a field mouse's sensitive ears wouldn't be able to hear anything. She flew out of the Cavern of Mirror, doing cartwheels and corkscrews in the air. The park workers looked up and smiled at another satisfied customer. Mary Elise had never felt so free!
Mary Elise could only hope the others got as much fun out of this as she was!
"We have GOT to get Kellie to try this! I'm sure Claudia will be able to convince Mika to get it go!" She didn't know Mika already had.
