Susan barely had time to figure out why Mrs. Ellis had suddenly lost it when her cell phone began to ring. She jumped in her seat as she had been lost in thought, and slowly peeked at who was calling. She was relieved to see it was just her husband, Pete, probably calling her to check up on her. She happily answered to take her mind off this crazy stone.
"Hello honey!" She answered with relief.
"Hey, baby." Pete replied with a slow monotone.
Susan immediately knew something was up. Pete never called with a negative attitude. He worked a worse job than her and yet he always managed to stay happy when they talked. Something must have been really wrong if it shook him up.
"What's wrong honey?" Susan asked softly.
"I... I just got fired."
"W-what?"
"I got fired Susan. It wasn't my fault though. Joe was doing some maintenance work on one of the machines when it fell to pieces. Boss came out furious and asked what had happened. Joe blamed it on me, and since we don't have any security cameras he took the word of the freaking repair guy over one of his most loyal workers, and eve-" Pete continued but Susan wasn't listening anymore.
Susan was fuming with rage as she paced around her desk. Her coworkers all seemed to shuffle away from just seeing her stare alone. Susan couldn't believe what had happened. As she paced around barely listening to her husband's rant, the rock she had unknowingly picked up began to glow a faint green glow.
It was fueled by her rage, and unbeknownst to Susan, it really could alter reality itself with just a wish. Susan finally broke as she started fuming.
"No! This is outrageous! Go back in there and tell him it wasn't your fault! You have kids to feed! Joe doesn't and can go suck it!" She screamed.
"Baby it's okay! I can find another job, we just-" He began before Susan interrupted again.
"No Pete! It is not okay! I... I just.... Gah!!!" She yelled.
"I wish...."
