Esther had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years back. Professor Von Strasser hoped his strange method would be a cure. He observed closely as she awoke in Alan's body. For several minutes, there was complete silence.
"Where am I?" She eventually spoke.
"Don't you remember?" The professor asked.
"Not at all. Who are you?"
The professor sighed. His own mother still didn't recognize him. He might just have to admit failure with this one. His attention was distracted by a withered and frail voice.
"Hello? Hello? Could you please help me, Mister?"
Alan in Esther's body had woken up. Von Strasser turned his attention to the boy in Esther's body.
"Don't you recognize me?" he asked.
Alan tried hard to focus and remember, but he was at a loss. "No, not at all. Where am I?"
The professor jogged down some notes as he continued to question Alan. Not only was he unable to restore his mother's memory, Alan's was deteriorating fast.
