After taking a few steps downstairs, Brad saw his wife relaxing on the couch, running a hand through her waist-length dyed hair. She smiled at him, her teeth a pearly white. He lingered around the staircase for a while, and took in her new features. She looked gorgeous, but it almost felt like something was missing.
"Something wrong, Brad?" Asked Sally.
Brad nodded his head. "Uh, yeah. I just left something upstairs. Don't worry, I'll be right back."
Sally returned to watching TV, and Brad went back up the stairs, heading to the Chronivac. He pulled up her display again and analyzed it.

Brad scrolled further down, and saw that there was an option labeled INPUT NEW STRING. He referenced the help section, and saw all the new strings he could play around with. Libido, sexual orientation, weight, accent, traits, hobbies, education, species, and so many more. There were so many different ways to change his wife that it nearly overwhelmed him. He decided to start with something simple, and added the HAIRSTYLE string to her profile.
Now all Brad had to do was choose what kind of hairstyle to give Sally. Sure, straight hair was nice, but with the Chronivac the sky was the limit. He closed eyes and tried to think of a new look for his wife. Surprisingly, the first thing that Brad thought of was an Afro. A bit of a throwback, but he was sure it'd look good. Besides, natural hair was all the rage these days. Brad edited her profile and looked at the readout.

Brad nodded his head in approval, and set the duration of the transformation to 3 minutes, with reality awareness off for everyone except him. Confirming his changes, he put the Chronivac on sleep mode and went downstairs, sitting next to his wife.
"So, what're you watching?" Asked Brad.
"The newest season of Survivor," said Sally as she ran a hand through her hair again. This time, though, the straight locks were thicker than ever, and turning wavy.
Brad looked at his wife's changing hair and smiled. "Know who's going to win yet?"
Sally shook her head, but as she did, the wavy strands shifted and twisted. Her hair was becoming so thick and curly that it looked like it was getting shorter. Soon, her tresses had retreated up her back. However, the poofy mass of ringlets had become so thick it was almost wider than her shoulders.
Spell-struck, Brad couldn't help but look at Sally's hair. He decided to ask her a question to keep her busy. "How many seasons has this show been on, anyway?"
Sally tilted her head, in thought, and her ringlets bounced as she did. Her hair was becoming curlier and curlier with each passing second, the curls becoming smaller and finer. Soon, her locks lifted themselves from her shoulders, sticking out a neat 10 inches from her scalp in every direction.
She twisted a curl from her enormous 'do around one of her fingers, still thinking. She twisted and twisted and twisted until the hair was perfectly straight and reaching her waist. "38, Brad. They're on 38 seasons." With that, she let go of the hair was she playing with, and the strands snapped immediately back into place. A wave rippled through her hair, and the dense mop of curls smoothed out slightly into a very curly natural-looking and Afro.
Brad nodded in understanding but continued to look at her new hair, so Sally finally turned her head to look at him. "What, is something wrong? You're staring at me."
Blinking, Brad focused his gaze downwards to Sally's eyes. "Oh, nothing! Nothing."
The couple continued watching TV together, but Brad's heart's was pounding. There were so many more things for him to test, and he couldn't stop thinking about all the different ways he could change his wife, his children, and even himself.
