"A princess, huh? I knew that body of yours was royalty in some form or another." Damon said.
"Indeed, I had a feeling such a kind soul like yours had a princely aura to it. Please, Damon, please be my merman." Charlotte whispered.
"My pleasure…" Damon said as he kissed the back of Charlotte's hand gently.
Charlotte could only giggle as Damon kissed up her arm. Her long and slim tail eagerly wrapped around Damon's muscular tail, bringing them close together, both physically and emotionally.
Damon never felt something like this before
When Damon was growing up, he saw his brother often forced by his parents to pick a bride to marry, but he either rejected them or ignored them. Damon was never sure if it was their upbringing or whatnot, but virtually every hopeful bride he saw felt insincere. He could tell that they never really liked his brother or had genuine appreciation for the family, they really only wanted a crown to wear and someone to warm a bed with.
This lead to Damon often growing up alone from the world and reading books on legends and monsters, it was from these books that Damon was introduced to the merfolk. The way they swam with tails instead of legs and were able to swim in speeds that far exceeded a human's enchanted Damon.
When Damon's father and brothers eventually found a Merkingdom, Damon was initially thrilled and hopeful for his family to meet merpeople. But Damon's heart broke when he saw his kingdom waging war with the merfolk.
It was a battle over resources, typical of his family.
Damon was used to seeing fights such as this, but he felt genuine disgust over his kingdom attempting to kill and conquer beings he once thought were myths. Especially beings that were only different from humans due to their fish tails.
The war ended in a draw, but deep cuts could be felt on both sides and Damon wanted to do something about it.
It was then that he set out a journey for himself to find peace between his people and the merfolk.
Although Damon knew his journey would lead to him going through strange places, he never expected to find himself kissing a mermaid princess' body, but he wasn't complaining, and either was Charlotte - it felt wonderful. It felt beautiful.
The two were in true bliss.
