As the reunited mermadic family started to catch up, they heard noises coming from the cave’s entrance.
“Even more visitors? Goodness, I would’ve prepared a party with if I had known this many people would come to my home.”, The Sea Witch commented.
“But who could it be?”, The Queen questioned.
Damon swam towards the entrance to see something he never expected to see - his family.
His parents and brothers were underwater, covered in a magical blue aura. When Damon’s mother noticed her son, her eyes widened.
“Damon, you’re alive! And… oh my…”, Damon’s mother said as she looked at her son’s body and saw his tail. His tail instinctively moved to keep Damon floating, his mother was enchanted to see his son as a mythical creature. If her parental instincts were still normal, she would’ve scolded Damon for being completely naked other than his tail.
“I know what you’re thinking, little brother, but we’re able to breathe underwater thanks to the royal wizard of the kingdom.”, Damon’s brother, Brandon, said.
“Yes, the blue aura allows us to breathe underwater. But it seems you have no problem being in the ocean, Damon. Nevertheless, it’s wonderful to see you again, brother.”, Arron, the eldest prince, spoke.
Damon quickly swam up to hug his family. His father, mother, and his two older brothers took Damon in open arms.
“The entire kingdom looked everywhere for you, my son. Why did you leave without telling us?”, Damon’s father asked.
“It’s a very long story.”, The Merking's voice spoke.
Damon’s father paused and let go of his embrace of the family. “I remember fighting you, King of Merkingdom. Why is my son a merman?”
The rest of the royal Merkingdom’s family emerged; The Merquen, Princess Charlotte, The Sea Witch all came out to reveal themselves to Damon’s human family, along with the mermaid.
“It’s a very long story, and I believe all of us should tell Damon’s tale together.”, the mermaid said.
With the help of all the people he met along the way, Damon his tale to everyone.
The way his parent’s treated Aaron led Damon to be alone with books on creatures, leading him to be enchanted by the merfolk. When his father and brothers warred with the Merkingdom, Damon was appalled and created a mission for himself to bring peace between his Kingdom and the Merkingdom.
In order to do that, he had to speak to the King and Queen, but he was a human - leading him to find a mermaid who turned him into a merman. After he met with a royal mercouple that agreed to his, he explored the Merkingdom with his mermaid guide. It was then that the mermaid pointed him to Charlotte.
Damon and Charlotte met and discovered that the two found genuine love for each other - leading to flirting that escalated further and further. In a state of intimate need, Charlotte encouraged Damon to kiss her body- and he happily obliged. But once the Merking found out, through the mermaid, of what Damon had done, Damon was punished to be a shark.
Heartbroken, Charlotte snuck out of the cave to meet with Damon and assist him in turning back into a merman. The mermaid, in guilt, also agreed to help Damon be a merman again with the help of the Merking’s sister The Sea Witch.
Eventually, the Merking and Merqueen found out about Charlotte’s disappearance and set out to find the witch’s lair. Luckily, The Sea Witch’s spell worked and Damon turned back into a merman.
With everything set and done, the royal family of the Merkingdom was reunited and brought closer due to Damon’s actions.
Damon’s family were speechless throughout hearing the entire story.
“Oh, Damon… You went through so much. My poor baby…”, his mother said as she embraced her son.
“Wow, Aaron. Can you believe that? Damon found true love before you did!” Brandon laughed.
“Indeed, Brandon.” Aaron eyed on Charlotte, who was smiling at Damon being with his family again after so long. “Damon, you got a very lucky catch. Don’t take her for granted.”, he said quietly.
The Merqueen eventually spoke up to Damon’s family. “Damon’s journey led him through so much, all because he wanted peace between human and merfolk. He did it for all of us. My husband and I support your prince in his goal of peace, but what do you think?”
Damon’s father and mother spoke quietly, before eventually facing the royal family. “My wife and I agree to let our Kingdom make peace with yours.”, Damon’s father spoke.
Before anyone could prematurely celebrate, Damon’s eldest brother spoke.
“But I still have one question, how can the two kingdoms fully symbolize a union for peace? I ask this since we had a war not too long ago.”, Aaron said.
Everyone was silent, Aaron was right - a final decision had to made to mark a promise for humans and merfolk to coexist peacefully.
