Damon and Charlotte continued to kiss and embrace each other for what felt like forever. The Sea Witch didn’t mind though, she was glad to see her niece so happy after what was likely a horrible experience with her brother - The Sea Witch could certainly relate to Damon with banishment from the Merkingdom.
The mermadic prince and princess were in bliss until they both heard a noise coming from the cave’s entrance.
“More visitors?”, The Sea Witch questioned
“But who? I thought Damon, Charlotte, and I were the only ones who traveled to your place”, the mermaid wondered.
It was then that the group noticed a pair of figures swimming towards them - it was the King and Queen of the Merkingdom.
“Charlotte!”, her parents cried in unison.
But Charlotte was very much not happy to see them again. She tightened her embrace on Damon and let out a growl - Damon could sense her lover transforming into a terrifying siren once again, but he feared being punished by the King much more, so he continued to hug the mermaid princess.
Neither of them wanted to let go, not after everything they went through.
“Leave Damon alone! You already took him away from me once and tore my heart apart, and I won’t let him be punished again!”, Charlotte snarled.
“Yes, King. Haven’t you already banished enough people for a lifetime, including your own sister?”, The Sea Witch teased her brother.
The King and Queen were initially shocked to see their daughter act so hostile towards them, but it quickly made sense to them. She’s a young princess who had her prince taken away from her once, but she won’t let it happen again without a fight. The King cleared this through and spoke up.
“Charlotte… Damon… I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done. It was terrible of me to assume the worst of the love you two shared together. I can understand you two feeling this way against me, please forgive me.”, The King pleaded to his child.
“Indeed. I’m especially sorry for everything that happened to you, Damon. You were just a prince who wanted to bring peace for the humans and the merfolk. I still believe your heart is as pure as it when you first stepped into our kingdom.”, The Queen added.
The Sea Witch put her hands on her hips. “And…?”
“I’m so sorry, sister. You were always a skilled user in magic, and it scared me once Charlotte came to this world. I know it’s been so long since we first met, but I promise to make it up to you. From now on, You and Damon are no longer banished from not just my Merkingdom, but also my family.”, The King said.
The Sea Witch smiled, “You were always the kind of brother who wanted to look tough - but always bowed down once you were wrong. I forgive you, brother, I still love you.”
Damon and Charlotte soon let go from their tight embrace.
“And what about my mission?”, Damon questioned.
“Yes, your mission, Damon. After everything you went through to get here, I officially agree to start a peace deal with your human kingdom.”
Damon gasped, “My kingdom…. My Parents… My brothers! They’re probably worried about me being missing after so long.”
“Oh dear, I completely forgot you had a family above the land! Hopefully, we can meet your parents and have a pleasant discussion about peace, right?”, The Queen said with a hint of surprise and optimism in her voice.
