Steve awoke with a startled jump. He had had the craziest dream. He was wearing children's clothing while his kids acted mature and his wife wore a diaper! He shuddered, but his relief quickly gave way to fear when he turned to see his wife Janet silently sleeping in a massive baby seat. Steve was too shocked to hold it in and let out a fearful screech. The rest of the car woke up immediately as Steve tried to calm down.
"No no no." He whimpered. "Dis can't be weal!"
"Honey calm down, it's gonna be all right." Megan tried to soothe her father, only to realize that she called him honey. "Oops, um, sorry Dad, this magic is really weird." She apologized.
Steve crossed his arms and huffed. Here he was, a grown ass man, forced to sit in a booster seat. "It's fine. I'm sowwy for waking you up."
"Apology accepted. Now, should we try the book now?" Meagan asked the car.
"Hold on Meg, let's be careful about this. Look what I found last night." Alan interrupted, showing Megan the photo.
Steve and Janet managed to lean forward enough to see it as well, and all three of them were shocked.
"S-so it's not just the mirror?" Megan asked scared.
"Yeah..." Alan added. "I didn't want to say anything, but I felt like I needed to do so. This thing didn't;t just change our clothes, it changed reality along with us."
Megan, almost wanting to prove Alan wrong, whipped out her phone and pulled up her contacts. She scrolled through her texts and found mostly the names of her mothers friends, as well as a few new older people. Under the contact for "Mom" was her grandmother, and every text was different. She shut the phone and sat back in disbelief.
"Holy cow." Megan gasped. "Look, I know this is crazy, but we still need to try. Reality changing is all the more reason for us to try the book now. If we don't then we'll all just live like this forever, and I don't think we want that."
Alan wasn't too sure, but he felt like Megan's heart was in the right place. He turned to see his parents, still dressed way too young, both shaking their heads vigorously. They wanted to be normal asap. Alan sighed, handing the book over to Megan with his head hung in defeat.
"Okay, okay, you better be right about this." Alan chuckled.
"Yeah.... I hope this works too." Megan agreed as she flipped open the book.
The light from the book poured out, causing reality to change once again... but what happened?
