Chad was red from scrubbing and bruised in several places by the time Rick was satisfied that Chad was clean enough. He poured the sudsy water out causing Chad to topple and get more bruises. He left the bottle on its side next to the sink. Chad was lying still and prone. He figured Chad couldn't escape.
Chad examined the opening. He was able to fit his head and one arm out of the opening with the spout lid off. But the other arm would be a trick. The bottle was plastic, so it had some flex. Chad had read about Houdini and his escapes when younger. He dislocated his shoulder and while mentally blocking the pain, forced his other arm through the opening. Then he exhaled and pushed himself out. He popped his shoulder back in, and stood awkwardly on the counter. Bruno said he'd be gone an hour, Rick finished cleaning him after about 15 minutes, and it had taken 10 more minutes to wriggle out of the bottle. Chad rubbed his sore shoulder, and looked over the cliff edge that was the sink counter. Chad looked at the faucets, tile, sink and bottle. He estimated that he was now only 5 or 6 inches tall, and he had less than 35 minutes to get away.
