"It seems your grandfather died and Roy and your family went to visit." She replied solemnly.
"Oh no!" Roy wasn't that close to his grandfather so it wasn't that, it was that his grandfather lived across the country he wouldn't be back for a week at least.
"At least we kept the remote?" Stacy tried to cheer him up. "We can still play around with it, but you're gonna have to stay as my sister for a while, I don't want some stranger taking over her life."
"This sucks! I'm going to have to go to school as your little sister!"
"Hey, maybe I could switch with Ashley's best friend sometime and I could at least go to school with you."
"Yeah that'd be a lot of help, thanks, I'm still not sure if I can do it though." He replied.
"We don't have much of a choice" Stacey said.
"Look, it's only the weekend now," Stacy continued. "You won't have to go to school until Monday. And I'll help you figure everything out. I can be a very helpful and understanding big sister."
"But... I don't want you to be my big sister!" protested Roy. "I... I... I want..."
"I know... but shhhh," whispered Stacy. "My mom is in the next room. And she thinks you and I are sisters. Look, I know this isn't fun for you. But we don't have another choice. Your life is going to be halfway across the country all week. You'll just have to make the best of things and pretend you're my seventeen year old sister, okay? I promise I'll coach you the best I can and do everything possible to help you out... okay, Ashley?"
Roy hung his head in frustration.
"Guess I don't have a choice," he said glumly.
"Sure you do," replied Stacy. "You can get all sullen and pouty. Or you can make the most of a bad situation. We had lots of fun last night, right?"
"Well sure," admitted Roy.
"So there's no reason we couldn't have fun all week long, right?" Stacy said with a smile. "C'mon, if I had to have a guy trapped as my sister, there's nobody else in the world I'd rather have than you!"
That brought a reluctant smile to Roy's face.
"Well... thanks," Roy finally said. "I... I guess I'll try and be the best Ashley I can. It's only for a week, right?"
"That's the spirit!" said Stacy, giving Roy a tight, affectionate squeeze. "Now, go get dressed girlfriend! You can't be running around all weekend wearing that nightie!"
Roy looked down at his skimpy outfit and laughed.
"Right," he said. "I'll... uh... be right back."
Roy scampered off to Ashley's room and started digging through her closet looking for something to wear.
