The final bell of the day rang, dismissing all of the students from school. Connor’s first day had gone by rather uneventfully, with nothing out of the ordinary happening. The teachers had given barely any homework for the night, much to Connor’s surprise. Because of this, he was hoping that he could spend the rest of the day with at least one of his friends.
Connor made his way to the front of the school to find Tad, Amy, and Ryan waiting there for him. Tad and Amy appeared to be having a conversation, while Ryan seemed to be scanning the crowd for Connor. When he spotted him, Ryan began waving in an attempt to signal Connor, and Connor began to make his way over.
“So how was your first day?” Ryan asked with a smile. “I mean, I know we had most of our classes together, but it still doesn’t hurt to ask.”
“It was pretty good,” Connor responded casually. “I’m looking forward to just relaxing now.” He then turned to Tad and Amy. “You two have any plans?”
Tad nodded. “Yeah, I’m going to hang out with Amy today,” he said before giving his girlfriend a kiss.
“That’s cool,” Connor said. “How about you Ryan?”
“Nope, I’m free for the rest of the day,” he said. “Eh, how about you come over to my place? I can help you do some research on Weres. Maybe I could even show you my fursona!”
“Yeah, that sounds good to me!” Connor said before turning to Tad and Amy. “I’ll see you two tomorrow.”
“Same here,” Amy said with a smile before she and Tad began their walk home, leaving just Connor and Ryan.
“So...should we...start walking?” Connor asked, to which Ryan nodded. The two began walking, neither of them saying a word for a few minutes.
“So can I ask you a question?” Connor asked, breaking the silence between the two of them.
“Sure, go ahead,” Ryan said.
“Why is it that you’re so eager to help me?”
“Come again?”
“I mean, we barely know each other, and yet...you’re willing to help me figure out what Were I should be.”
Ryan shrugged. “I can’t really explain it, but it’s just what makes the most sense for me to do. I feel like it’s my job to help you.”
“Huh…” Connor said, pausing for a minute before asking “Hypothetically, if I were to decide to become a Werewildcat…would you…?”
Ryan laughed and put his arm around Connor’s shoulder, making the male blush slightly. “Of course I would! But you should at least see the fursona of one of the many types of Weres that you can become before making any choices.”
“Right,” Connor said, thinking to himself about what Ryan has said.
