While Richard tried to grasp the unwelcome transformation, the wild man, now in Richard’s former body, yowled, ripped off the oversized loincloth, and grabbed the bars of the cage.
Aggravated by the distraction, Richard snapped, “Will you please be quiet!”
The wild man, still inhabiting Richard’s body, and finding it not at all to his preferences, stopped his ear-splitting yowls, and stopped shaking the bars. His green eyes locked onto Richard, who now stood outside the cage, an awkward inhabitant of the large, muscled, unwashed physique.
“Puny man give Garok back body!”
Richard listened to his usual, well-modulated voice come from the wild man’s mouth in barely multi-syllabic bursts.
He took a few steps closer to the cage only for his shredded boots to fall apart.
“You caused this, you mindless savage!” Richard berated the man. He winced as he noticed that his cock on his former body was fully erect and on embarrassing display as the brute rattled the bars of the cage again. He finished removing his ripped shirt, standing before the agitated man in the cage, his hairy, sweaty, muscled torso on full display. Richard remembered the golden butterfly wing. “Give me that relic, you stupid beast.”
The tear that had started above the muscled behemoth’s ass crack continued to unravel, making the pants more a hindrance than anything. Richard wasn’t prepared when Garok dashed past him. Unfortunately for the wild man, he no longer possessed his former speed and agility, which allowed Richard to grasp one of the man’s thin wrists in one of his meaty paws.
The wild man yowled angrily and began flailing his other arm at Richard.
That’s how the excavation team’s two security guards found them when they walked into the room.
The men raised their guns, already loaded with precautionary sedative darts, and aimed toward Richard.
“Not me!” Richard yelled as he pulled his former much smaller body in front of him like a shield.
The wild man took the first dart and went down quickly, his much smaller physique much less able to throw off the effects of the sedative.
Richard shoved the wild man aside and made the mistake of raising his arms over his head, almost like the warning before a gorilla charges. Both men responded, shooting him with darts that delivered a double dose of the sedative.
Richard stumbled and tried to grab for a flimsy table that he upset and and pulled down as his heavy, muscular form sank to the floor.
It took both men to pull the unconscious man they took as the brutal, uncivilized specimen, back into the cage. The unfortunate jungle man trapped in the young historian's body, now naked and drooling on the floor tiles, they took to a nearby medical clinic for treatment.
