As Derek held onto the socks, he spied a boy walking into the store. He looked to be about 13 or 14, average height and build. He walked over to Derek, and greeted him. “Hey man, I need some basketball high tops. Size 9 if you can”. “Sure thing, but before you do... can you put these socks on to try the shoes on? Store policy”. The boy complied, starting to pull on the socks. Derek left to get the shoes.
When he returned, the boy had just put the other sock on. Derek knelt down next to the boy. He had deliberately chosen a Size 14, q full five sizes up from what the boy ordered because he was hoping that the growth would happen. Even though the shoe was obviously much bigger than a nine, the boy didn’t seem to question it.
Under the guise of measurements. Derek placed the measurement guide next to the boy’s feet. At first he didn’t see anything, but then he saw the boy’s feet expand slightly. Another slight stretching sound and the feet grew just a bit more. The boy currently measured at 9.5, but as Derek watched the boys feet expanded just a little more. Size 10 now. Derek shivered.
Standing up on the guise of having to do work, Derek told the boy he would be right back and to keep the shoes off, he wanted to observe the fit. Retreating to behind the corner of the aisle, Derek watched the boy’s feet in fascination.
By now, the boy’s feet measured a 11.5, which was already fairly big for a 14 year old. And as Derek watched, the boy’s feet kept slowly expanding. Even so, the boy was oblivious, playing games on his phone while he waited.
Suddenly Derek had a funny idea. Approaching the boy with a pair of Size 12 high tops, Derek quickly fitted the boy with them, lacing the shoes up quickly.
The boy experimentally stood on them and walked around. He pretended to shoot a few hoops, and was even enjoying the shoes when...
RRRRRIIIIIIIIPPPP. The seams of the boy’s high tops split open at the front, and the boy’s feet poked through the holes. Derek had “forgotten” that the shoes didn’t grow with the feet. He ran over, the boy was apologizing profusely. Derek said it was fine, sit down on the bench and let me measure you again.
Placing the boy’s noticeably larger feet in the measurement device, Derek was astonished when it measured a full Size 13! And as he watched before his eyes, the boy’s feet expanded just slightly.
Derek told the boy to wait for just a few minutes while he got some bigger shoes. He again hid behind the pillar, catching glimpses of the boy’s still growing feet. The boy looked ridiculous now, he still was his old body but now his feet were huge, easily the size of someone who was half a foot taller.
Finally, Derek couldn’t take it. He walked back over and requested to measure the boy one last time. When he did so, he was astonished to read a Size 14.5! Derek requested the boy take off the socks and gave him Size 15 high tops. They fit perfectly, and the boy looked ridiculous with his now huge feet, but he didn’t complain.
