The same humming and glowing lights flashed about the box before retreating again. As the magic died down the latches snapped open again.
Sarah reached in and pulled out...a flask of liquor? Sarah peered at the label. "Pleasure Island Brew: Let your Wild Side out!" her confused face looked up at the other girls. "Not quite what I was expecting." Sarah said. Then her face lit up with renewed fervor, "But I'll give it a shot! If a simple headband did all that stuff to you yesterday I'm sure this'll be cool too!"
She carefully unscrewed the cap and sniffed the contents.
"Whew!" she exclaimed, scrunching her face slightly, "this stuff smells strong!"
Tentatively, Sarah brought it to her lips and took a small swig.
Instantly after swallowing, Sarah started coughing.
"Well I was right about theEE streEEAWngth!" Sarah clapped a hand over her mouth as the last two words devolved into a loud, animalistic noise.
"Holy shit!" said Skye, "Where did that come from?"
Hand still clapped over her mouth and her eyes wide, Sarah shrugged.
"Well you're gonna have to breathe at some point" Jessica pointed out.
Slowly, Sarah lowered her hands. "I think it passed, I couldn't stop it, it felt like a hiccup!"
Kimmy peered at her roommate. The girl's thin lips appeared a little darker, and Sarah's teeth seemed to press against the inside of her lips, as though they didn't fit as well as before. She would have said it was her imagination, but Kimmy knew better than that now.
"Feel anything else?" she said, still scanning her roommate's form.
"I don't think so," replied Sarah, "it was a really tiny sip. Didn't taste bad though. Made my stomach feel all fuzzy."
Sarah absentmindedly rubbed her tummy, a small grin playing about her lips, her front teeth poked out from beneath them slightly.
"I guess I'll go next," said Jessica a little nervously as she took her eyes off of Sarah.
With more than a hint of hesitation, she let her finger hover over the red gem for a moment before pressing it.
