With August, the 2019 IAC began winding down, mainly with the Finals of almost all the major game tournaments being the main "event" of the month of August. But that wasn't the only thing that was going on in August. It was also time to "prepare" to go back to school. There were those who would be graduating high school at the end of the school year and/or moving on to Pi Eta Tau, while there would be others who would be graduating college.
It was also considered the time when silly commercials for "back-to-school" sales began, mostly with the kids clearly not happy while the parent or parents clearly being overjoyed about it. But there was some who had mixed feelings about going to school/college.
"I'm pretty sure that there will be a few mares at Pi Eta Tau." said Andrew, confidently during his workout with his four "brochachos" (don't ask me, I don't know what that means). He was taking his turn in front of the Mirror while the others were doing their workouts.
"I'm still a little surprised that Alpha Tau Omega is letting us move over there." said Caiden, running on the treadmill.
"I think that the president of our old frat is a little jealous that we managed to get seven girls in one night." said Dean, working the dumbbells. "His personal record was three at once."
"I'm just clad I don't have severe acne troubles anymore." said Biff, admiring his scale pattern in a different mirror while doing squats.
"Try saying that again when shedding season hits you." said Andrew, generating a few laughs from everyone else.

Another new thing was another that generated some suspicion like Ling did when she first arrived. It was the arrival of a female Russian wolfhound, but it wasn't quite as bad as Ling's since Anastasia (the dog's name) was not only a purebred, but also a six-time national champion in both the dog show and the dog agility competition, and her owner wanted to "reward" her for a "life well lived". Elly's parents also knew Anastasia's owner and thus were able to get her "sponsorship", and since a Borzoi wasn't uplifted during the initial outbreak, it was good to get some data on that.
After her uplifting, she took the last name Romanov because it was her owner's personal belief that her pedigree traced back to wolfhounds once owned by the Romanov Dynasty. After she had taken the name someone joked, "Don't let Rasputin catch you.", much to her confusion, since she was much too "young" to know about such things.

Another big event that was "popular" that was taking place in August was the official showing of the Animalia Gymnastics Showcase. While there were a lot there that was already in both regular gymnastics and/or rhythmic gymnastics, part of what made it amazing was the fact that some of them were done at 15+ feet above the ground.
Probably what was one of the "Highlights" was Rocket. While she didn't go with Allura and Xena on their colony tour, that was mainly because she was taking part in the Gymnastics showcase. Part of it was watching Allura jump 15 feet into the air before grabbing the first two rings to begin her routine.

While the celebrity newsmongers were seemingly more interested in the "Seven-on-Four" night, the more official news groups were doing a good job on covering the events.
