Beacon, Allura, and Xena were originally going to rejoin the colony tour in Vilcabamba. However, the three fish rather liked it at Skull Island and spent an extended stay there. Though Beacon did get online to video chat with Adi about why they weren't going down there.
"Well, you know how we fish are," said Beacon, "We prefer to stay next to water. And we're deep-sea fish too, so we prefer saltwater over freshwater."
"I can understand why would be more attached to one colony more than another," said Adi, "I actually liked the African colonies. I had more room to run there. Not so easy to run with so many trees down here."
"Is it really hot there too?" asked Beacon.
"I'm told it's more humidity than heat," said Adi, "But then, we're not that far from the equator."
"Is it really that humid down there?" asked Beacon.
Adi gave hir a flat look. "It's called the rainforest, what do you think?" she asked dryly.
"Well, we may visit Vilcabamba later," said Beacon, "After the summer. I want to know how well a fish can do in high-humidity areas. It sounds like we won't dry up, but I want to be sure."
"Well, the jungle isn't quite the best place for a horse," said Adi, "We need open places and there are so many roots to trip over. Not to mention we can't get up to that treetop village easily."
"How are the other horses liking Vilcabamba?" asked Beacon.
"I think they're liking the cultural experiences. They're not so bad to be around," said Adi, "They're almost like my little sisters and brothers."
"Are all of them like that?" asked Beacon teasingly, "I think Damien wants to be more than that."
Adi gave an equine snort and said, "You think I don't know that? He might have physically and mentally matured, but he's not that hard to read. Besides, I know what a stallion would think when he's around a mare like me."
"But what does a mare thinking being around a stallion like him?" asked Beacon.
"I won't deny, I've felt physical attraction," said Adi, "I'm an Animalian now, I know what comes with it. But I won't be a slave to my hormones. If I'm going to be with a stallion, it's going to be more than a fling. I am not that type of woman, even as a mare."
"I understand that," said Beacon, "It's not like you're in heat. Speaking of which, how is Ling doing?"
"For once, she doesn't have Mr. Hyun constantly on her mind," said Adi, "She seems to really like it here at Vilcabamba. Apparently it's not that different from the forests in Korea."
"Good for her," said Beacon.
"Though she still bugs Mr. Hyun in provocative ways," said Adi.
"Good for her," said Beacon.
"So how are things on Skull Island?" asked Adi.
"It's interesting, especially meeting all the aquatic Dinotopians," said Beacon, "Allura was watching the gymnastics event online last night."
"Didn't know shi cared that much," said Adi.
"I'm pretty sure shi's mainly rooting for Rocket," said Beacon, "I think Rocket may have a good chance."
"Yes, shi can really jump high for a fish," said Adi.
"So I guess we'll meet up for real at Dinosaur City," said Beacon.
"Well, it'll be a shorter flight for you," said Adi.
"Yeah, that's another reason why we didn't go down there," said Beacon, "Didn't make sense if we were just going to fly back up to Texas."
"You sure visit here," said Adi, "I here this place is lovely in the spring. Of course, that would be the fall months in the northern hemisphere."
"We might do that later," said Beacon, "I'll see you later."
"Goodbye," said Adi before ending the video chat. She was looking forward to Dinosaur City. The Amazon felt like a sweat lodge to her on some days.
