Three days north from the capital is the long-forgotten ruin of an ancient lich's once fearsome stronghold. According to stories passed down over the generations, the ruin is a labyrinth some 20 floors deep. The horrifying undead sorcerer who built it has long since been put to his final rest, but as the stories are told, as a contingency plan in the event of his sudden demise, a staggering number of curses were placed on all manner of objects, doorways, and even unassuming tiles on the floor all throughout the dungeon.
No one is even truly certain the lich was destroyed forever. Of the party sent to carry out the task, some hundred years ago, only one survivor came back, looking nothing at all like any of those brave men initially sent down, nor able to recall with any certainty which of them she originally was, returning as half gelatinous maid with cat ears, a lizard's tail, and barely enough intelligence to speak the common tongue at all. Others who have braved the depths since have come back similarly altered, with those delving the furthest being the least recognizable.
Of course, the forces of evil care not for danger, and to this day, various scourges of the land take refuge within the ruins, with brave adventures ready to risk the curses within to seek them out.
What manner of brave souls have taken up the task this day, and what manner of foul quarry do they hunt?
