In the end you deem it best to play the part of a Counsellor. It’s for the best you tell yourself. It’s incredibly unlikely they’ll believe you and if they don’t it could make them believe you have something to do with it if they believe you’re actively trying to fool them. Besides, you and Taylor... you just noticed you’ve been referring to her as Taylor internally as well, you don’t have time to ponder that right now however. Anyway, you and... Taylor have this place covered. It’s probably better that they investigate somewhere else, it’ll increase the odds of the solution being exposed.
You stand up straight and take a deep breath as you wait for them to enter the room, at the corner of your eye you spot Taylor standing ready to follow your lead, whatever you choose to do.
“See I told you no one is h-“ the voice of Betsy suddenly comes to a halt as she takes sight of you, Daisy soon comes to a halt shortly after as she followed right behind her.
“Uh... oh hi Counsellors.... we didn’t think any was here...” Betsy greeted meekly and got quieter as she went on.
You put on your best authorative voice and walk over, at the back of your mind you notice the sway of your hips as you move but don’t have time to think on it.
“We were just fetching some final items we needed for our camp activities.” You say giving a plausible sounding lie to explain your appearance here “But what are you two girls doing? Campers are not allowed in the Counsellor’s Lodge.” You say crossing your arms. You don’t actually know the rules but think that sounded reasonable enough for them to believe it regardless.
The two woild ne investigators get nervous, Betsy seems to struggle to give a response to which you go “Well? I’m waiting young ladies” you say with trying to hurry them along so you leave soon before anything else happens.
“We... we.. we didn’t like the Mess Hall food and thought we might... borrow some of yours. Sorry, it was very wrong and we should no better.”
Inside you are thankful they’ve given a response, it’s something you can work with. Taylor is the one to respond next, seemingly following your lead.
“As y’all should be girls. You are Ravenwood Campers, not thieves.” She says with a tone of disappointment and slight anger.
Betsy lowers her head, trying to look ashamed. Daisy soon joins in to play along.
“We know.. but we.. saw some of the food in here and got stupid. It won’t happen again.” Daisy says, worried.
You eye both of them, you feel like you’re getting the hang of this whole ‘discipline’ thing, as you frown at the pair “It better not. You’re lucky we’re both busy so we’ll let you run along for now. But know that we will be discussing punishments later. Stay out of trouble until then and we might be more lenient.” You speak with more confidence and power then you thought you were capable of, causing more young campers to squirm and quickly apologies yet again.
Taylor then steps in once again to finish things.
“No run along you two, we need to get to our activities so that the campers who actually want to join in can.” They both quickly nod being running off causing you to yell “And don’t run inside girls!” causing them to both slow down and pace their exit. While it did cause them to take a bit longer, you feel that final comment ensured your act was solid.
You notice you’re still crossing your arms, Taylor also still has a frown as she speak “I’ll have to make a note them two troublemakers.”
Instinctively you respond “Indeed, hopefully this was just a one off.” Suddenly you mind halts. Daisy and Betsy are gone, you don’t need to keep the act up... right?
Trying to get back on track you speak up to Taylor “Well, let’s get on back to what we were doing now that we’ve dealt with them”
Taylor looks at you and response, her face hard to read so you don’t know if she’s come up with a similar realisation over the act as you have.
“You are right. Let’s-
