In the year 2020, at around February, an unknown website surfaced through the internet, named "Moonlight Rhapsody" a CYOA (Choose your own adventure) online game, where the user could generate a "werebeast" character, ranging from creatures like werewolves, werebears, werelions, werehorses and even weredragons or other types of werecreatures, along with the ability to choose a class specific to the character, that comes with its own benefits and downsides, or even a normal character, that comes with its own selectable positive traits, such as enhanced stamina, immortality, affinity to an element such as wind, earth, fire or water, and even the ability to choose downsides to add an element of difficulty in the game, such as a powerful hunger, painful transformations, etc.
At first glance, it sounded like an excellent online game, however, some complained that it wouldn't start after creating their own characters, trying multiple times to experience the game, either giving up or trying to find the creator to contact him or her.
However, some days later after the release of the game, some of the individuals that tried to play Moonlight Rhapsody disappeared. The authorities sent multiple parties to search up the victims with no results, they then asked neighbours, friends and even the parents of the victims, still not finding any clue about the disappearances.
But the website was the main reason, it wasn't meant to be a game, no. It was meant to be a tool, one that would forever change the lives of those who use it, after a user would finish their own character, picking the type of werecreature, its origin, its class, beneficial traits and downsides, the website automatically cast a spell on the user or even the most treasured objects of the player, that would either transform the player into the werecreature they choose, along with the class and the beneficial traits and downside traits instantly, during each night, or even through the enchanted jewlery of the victim. Some of the users, after they saw what they turned into, would flee as far as possible from civilization, others would try desperatly to hide their dark secret, and some would even use their new found powers for their own benefits or for the benefits of others.
Now, the website wasn't linked to the disappearances yet, and it is still active, dragging the most of curious players into it's claws, just like a predator would do its prey, unknowingly enchanting them into becoming their own, self made werebeasts. Who will be the next victim to turned into a werecreature by the website?
