You are thinking about what to do when you hear people talking in the hallway, and coming closer. Not wanting to get caught you quickly strip down, put your stuff into the drawer, and hop onto the bed. As you lay back the top automatically closes and you hear a clunk as the drawer locks under you. Then you hear a click as the top locks down and the UV lights turn on, though not all of the tubes light up and some of them flicker.
You also notice a small display light up directly in front of you. It reads "Proceed - Yes / No". Hoping it is some new sort of video game system, and figuring that if you say "No" the top will just open back up, you press "Yes". The next thing it says is, "New Actor Detected" and "Install User Interface, Yes / No". You quickly press yes. When you do two metal restraints snap out of the table, one around your forehead and another around your chest and inflate cushions to keep you still. The display reads, "Please stay still for your protection. Brain Damage may result otherwise." You freeze, and it takes that moment to insert something into the back of your head. Then it reads, "Initializing" shortly followed by "Mapping Neurons" with a spinning wheel following it. Shortly after, "Starting up Interface," and you then hear without your ears a female voice say, "Welcome to NeuroLink. Uploading sentience matrix. Initializing autonomous functions shunt. Downloading to remote node. Enjoy you day !"
You see everything fade to white and wake up somewhere else. You can't seem to remember much. You feel yourself say in a monotone, "Download Complete. Commencing memories retrieval." Days and years worth of memories suddenly flood into you. You suddenly remember your name and your schedule for the day. You feel yourself disengage from some sort of alcove and you step out into a storage room. You see a mirror hung on a wall and head towards it. You feel a faint hum of servos as you walk over and look into the mirror.
