You are left there wondering what are you going to tell him, you can't exactly say you're a time traveller. Your ideas for an excuse are suddenly interrupted by another flash of a memory of your female self, this time showing an address. You are concerned at where these are coming from but with Jimmy waiting and the alcohol running through you, you can't really focus on it.
So you instead simply repeat the address to Jimmy to begins driving. You have no idea where this address will lead you but something tells you it will be fine. As the pair of you travel through the dark night roads of the city, you chat on the way, about this or that.
As you too chat, you find yourself having to keep coming up with a history for 'Anna Graven' in order to hold a proper conversation. You hope you can remember to be consistent.
"Oh, I don't have any family in the city. Moved here searching for the highlife, ha. Not exactly what I imaged as you could tell" and "These city streets always have such an aura to them under the moonlight, kind of romantic if you ask me" with a giggle, are just some of the sentences coming easily out of your mouth as you spoke with Jimmy on the drive away from the speakeasy.
Eventually you both arrive outside an apartment building. You step out, Jimmy helping you balance after all the alcohol you had. Something about this apartment seems vaguely familiar despite you never having been here before, at least you don't think you've been here before.
Despite your confusion, you begin walking into the building, followed by Jimmy. Without thinking you begin walking up the stairs for a few floors before reaching the third. Where you walk to a door. You blind at the door.
'What am I even doing here...' you wonder to yourself as you absentmindedly open your purse and pull out a key you didn't realise you had. A intense desire to use the key on the door ripples through you, which you end up caving into despite doubting it would work.
To your surprise, although your face doesn't show it, the key works and the both of your walk into the apartment, with you closing the door after Jimmy steps in. You switch on a lamp to get a better view.
It seems like a rather typical 1920s apartment, although you aren't the largest expert on those. Very homey, ice rugs and table clothes. Compact yet not too closed in, plenty of wiggle room. Something about walking around this room fills you with a powerful tingling sensation in your body and even mind, although you wonder if that's actually just that booze catching up to you again.
"Real fancy digs you got in Anna." Jimmy says, admiring the room... and you. You smile and give a somewhat drunk sounding giggle as you show him to a sofa "Please, please make yourself at home."
"Oh I wouldn't want to impose.." he says, although you get the feeling he does want to stay but just being polite.
You simply smile and him and go "Oh no, I insist. You were just a gentleman in bringing me here so please at least rest a bit, its getting late after all."
Ultimately Jimmy agrees and you walk off briefly to take off your coat and put it on a hanger. You wonder if you're intruding on someone else's apartment. But something tells you, you aren't. This all seems strangely familiar and you even feel safe and at home here.
You see something which shocks you inside but puts a smile on you outside, a black and white photograph of a woman who looks quite like the woman you saw in the mirror just earlier.
'How I remember when I got that... wait..' you decide to merely brush off your odd disconnected thoughts as merely the results of tiredness and alcohol. But you cannot deny that something about this place puts you at ease and feel confrontable.
