"You see, the police magic department has access to your non magical police records. We have some undercover agents who are specifically trained to help us get copies of such records. Only our most trusted agents are allowed on such roles.
A few weeks ago we had reports of a young male human disappearing in that area. As cold as it sounds, a lot of such cases involve people who were kidnapped through non magical means, so we stay out of them. We don't want to interfere in cases where magic is not concerned, since we don't want to cause a public incident, should anyone find out magic is real. Non magic users are more resourceful than us anyway. For example, your average magic user could blow up a whole house with their magic, but wouldn't know the first thing about actual explosives. You would still need a specialist to handle them."
"Despite all that, we still keep our agents on the lookout for anything strange. And so non magical agents were sent to the shop to investigate. We never heard from then again. After a few weeks of looking into the disappearances of our officers we concluded that it was impossible that they'd just be gone without a trace without anyone noticing. They wouldn't easily be overpowered by just the owner, a registered costume and toy seller, nor would they drop their guard like that. They wouldn't have gone down quietly. She must have felt cornered and acted out of despair."
This guy was good, you thought, he hit the nail in the head. When she killed those people downstairs she was distraught. He continued
"In addition, reports indicated that the shop had been closed since around the time of the incident. There was not much doubt now, a magical crime had occurred in that place."
"We decided to do a covert operation during the night. As soon as we got to the door, it was obvious. Some sort of magical contraption was blocking it. We had to completely obliterate the door just to get past it. Luckily we have noise suppressing spells we can use for situations like that. We planned a full on raid assault, excepting resistance. But none came. Until we came across the room you were in. The magic readings we performed were off the charts. Like ancient levels of potency, before taking magic from someone became outlawed. It was enough to turn our chief into a living bomb and, with the amount of time they must have had to work on you, to put you in this impenetrable state. I'm so sorry you've had to deal with all this, I promise we will do all we can to reverse whatever they did to you."
"Oh wait, just on cue, we're arriving. Prepare yourselves, the landing is always stomach churning the first few times."
You have the same feeling you had when you teleported away from the store. When the purple haze around you subsided you fall on the floor, belly down. Unable to see anything you hear the agent speaking with a shaky voice:
"No... It can't be but..."
"Awe someone found our little toys and brought them back, how nice of him!"
You pass out from the shock of hearing the Queen's voice again
