As the days turned into weeks, Deborah and Duke continued to plan their wedding, and she also noticed that Kate was acting a bit stranger lately. She'd be fine one minute, then throwing up the next, or refusing to eat her usual human food and eating a lot of fruits or meats, not to mention her mood swings! She'd be snapping (quite literally) at John or Deborah, and then happy and playful as ever. Deborah was fed up enough that she took her to the vet to figure this out.
"And lets see what we have here." The vet, a cocker spaniel, said as he was bringing up a paper with the blood work and diagnosis.
"Well, what it is?" Deborah asked, hoping that she wouldn't have to put her down, her reality powers weren't having any affect on Kate no matter how often she tried.
"Your human is pregnant." The vet said with a smile, "She'll stop being moody and having morning sickness in another week or two. Do prepare for the toddlers, humans have three to five usually." Deborah nodded as he handed her a packet on caring for a pregnant human, "And since she's only got two breasts, they're about to get much bigger, they'll triple in size to feed her babies, and milk production will continue until they're weaned, about a year old or so."
Deborah nodded, she did notice a bit of a belly bulge and that Kate's breasts had gotten a little larger. She didn't realize how much work breeding a human would be.
"One more thing," the vet continued, "the babies will be putting pressure on her bowels and bladder, so move her bed closer to the door or littler box, however you have her trained, she'll be going more frequently."
And at that, Deborah and Kate headed home, Deborah already planning the adjustments that needed to be made to ensure a proper and healthy birth.
