As John and Kate stood there, debating what they'd should do now, Deborah tackled Kate, knocking the wind out of her and causing her to drop the necklace! "Deborah! No!" John called, hoping that she'd obey his commands, he was moving in to take the necklace, but Deborah managed to grab it in her mouth and had run off in the house.
"We have to find her!" Kate said as John helped her up, the two looking around the house for wherever she might be, hoping they could get to her before she barked out any commands. Following the sound of the necklace jingling in her mouth, the two found Deborah upstairs sitting on the bed, the necklace under her paw.
"Bark!" Deborah barked out her wish, and without so much as a flash, or grand gesture, it was done. "Oh, I'm going to make you two have it!" Deborah said as she approached the two humans, once again on all fours, but growling at her this time. "This is the last time that humans will ever do this, but rest knowing you'll live full happy lives as my pets."
John andKate tried to rush Deborah, but though they were fast, they weren't faster than the speed of thought, and found themselves running up to Deborah and rubbing up against her, begging for attention. After all, Deborah loved them, and cared for them, why wouldn't a human love their dog?
"Deb? You still here honey?" Duke called from downstairs.
"Yes dear." She called out, quickly destroying the gem in the necklace and binding its power to her soul, leaving it as Dukes engagement necklace. "What'd you need?" She asked as she found him in the living room sipping his coffee.
Duke shrugged, "I just felt really weird for a minute, almost like a different dog."
Deborah brought him into a hug, "Well I can say that that feeling should go away soon, I didn't agree to marry a different dog, I agreed to marry you." 'That, andthe fact that I made sure that there wouldn't be another slip to humans ruling again, John and Kate adore me completely and that cursed magic necklace has been reduced to a simple decoration.' Deborah thought to herself as she hugged her fiancé.
