"Amy, wake up!" Natalie whispered, but to Amy, it sounded much more audible.
"Keep It down, you'll wake my parents up!" Amy scolded.
Natalie winced, and said: "I am keeping it down, you're the one practically screaming!" Natalie said, softer. The thing was; both girls, best friends having a sleepover together, thought they were being quiet; and, in fact they were, it's just their hearing had become oddly acute.
"What's so important, anyway, it's..." Amy looked around, but couldn't find the familiar green, glowing numbers of her clock anywhere in the darkness, "...where's the clock!?" She whimpered
"I don't know," Natalie answered, "but feel your ears!"
"Ooo-kaaay?" Amy said, in an incredulous tone before putting her hands up to her ears to find them bigger, longer and pointed. "Wait, what!?" She almost shouted out loud.
"Mine are the same way!" Natalie said with a whimper. "What's happening to us!?"
"I-I don't know; but I'm scared!" Amy answered before hugging Natalie. They both could feel their heartbeats racing as they clung to each other.
