There was another collective widening of eyes. "She's a star drifter!" said one.
"Star drifter?" you ask.
A younger, leaner looking shark-boy with glasses spoke up. "One in roughly 1.3 quadrillion souls is born with the power to transport between planets, dimensions, and universes, taking a form that suits the new universe when they arrive. The newly awakened, like yourself, do it unconsciously, but you'll learn to control it in time. Our planet is unique in that it tends to attract newborn star drifters to it. The aforementioned Queen Elunae is an elder star drifter, for instance."
Then you notice the last male. He looked like a normal human of African descent, or what would be African back in your world, anyway, but he also looked like he was barely suppressing the impulse to tear your throat out, and then you noticed that very slowly fur was growing on his body.
"Theo, compose yourself!" commanded the tiger. "You will not do violence to this innocent young lady."
"Do you have any idea what a SECOND vampire star drifter will lead to?" shouted Theo. "The delicate political balance between vampires and weres will be shattered! There will be war! My kind may well end up in concentration camps. I won't allow that, not again!"
Theo stood, and now his change rapidly accelerated as he took his full "werewolf" form, though you notice his features look a bit more like a jackal than a wolf. But the tiger stood between you and him. "I won't allow you to harm her." Soon the rest of the males followed suit and stood with the tiger. "and you certainly can't get through all of us."
Theo raged. "You should HELP me. Even you, Vincent, vampire or not, should recognize that we have to stop war." he said with a nod towards the vampire. "We have to kill her NOW, before she masters her powers, or the death toll will be in the millions."
"You don't know that..." said Vincent, the other vampire.
