... it was no longer a construction sight, but a high school instead! Emily was shocked to see that her father's site was gone. He had been working on it for quite some time, but it was nowhere near complete. On top of that, this was a simple three story building, whereas her dad was building a ten story building. What was even stranger, was that there was no sign of the place being new, as there were teachers and high school students all walking inside, getting ready for the day.
Rick, being confused himself, decided to pull over so that him and Emily could chat.
"So, did we make a wrong turn?" He asked awkwardly.
"No!" Emily exclaimed. "This is where it's supposed to be.... I don't get it."
They both climbed out of the car, and walked until they were standing in front of the main gates to the school. As Emily looked around for her father, Rick noticed something out of the corner of his eye on the ground.
"Uh, Emily." He said, as he picked up a photo. "I think I know what happened."
Emily looked over, and saw what Rick found. It was a photo of the front entrance of the school, with tons of students and teachers walking inside. At the top corner of the photo, there was a tiny edge of a thumb that had barely made it into frame.
"Oh. My. God." Emily gawked. "So, my Dad took a picture of the construction sight, and accidentally changed himself and all of his coworkers into people here!?" She gasped.
"I guess so." Rick thought. "Emily! Your back!" He suddenly said.
Emily looked behind her to find that she was wearing a backpack. One that she was definitely not wearing a minute ago.
"What? Wow, I didn't even notice..."
"Hey! Em!" A voice rang from in front of them. They turned to see a cute Asian girl walking with a blonde cheerleader type girl. The asian had short curly hair, a tank top, and skinny jeans with a fairly nice ass. The blonde girl had much longer hair, a nice dress on, and was a little thicker than most.
"Come on girl." The blonde said. "We're gonna be late for class." She sighed.
"Bu-but..." Emily muttered before the Asian girl laughed and began to drag her by the arm.
"I know I know." She said. "We don't wanna go either but ya gotta do what ya gotta do." She joked as the three walked away.
Rick watched with a smirk on his face.
"Bye honey!" He joked as he watched them walk off. "Great." He thought. "I'm sorta happy Emily is the one getting a little karma for once, but how am I gonna find the camera now?" He wondered.
"Oh Riley, there you are!" A woman said behind him.
It was an older Asian lady, likely the mother of the girl from earlier judging by her looks. "I've been waiting for you. Aren't we gonna go shopping today?" She asked.
"Right," Rick thought annoyed. "I'm a middle aged woman. This is something they like to do right?"
"Oh, um, sure!" Rick agreed awkwardly.
"Awesome. My house is only a block away so I walked with Paula today so I could take a ride with you to the mall." She explained. "EEE, this is gonna be great we haven't done this in forever!" She squealed before dragging Rick with her to the car.
Rick, of course, had stopped listening halfway through after she had said "Paula." Rick couldn't believe it, but that was the best lead they had. Paul must have been Paula! Which, must have been the Asian girl! He thought about rushing in to quickly grab the camera and try and fix everything, but figured that'd be messy. Even if he could be allowed in, and give a good reason to this lady as to why he needed to find her daughter, there was no guarantee he could find it, let alone turn everyone back.
"I guess my best bet is to let Emily deal with it and hope she can get it back." He thought as he hopped in with this woman. He quickly sent a text to Emily reading "I think Asian is Dad?" Before reluctantly driving off to shop.
Emily had gotten the text from "Mom" but was dealing with her own problem right now, that being...
