Charlotte was rather bored. It wasn't the most exciting job, being a retail clerk, especially in a niche market like this store seemed to be. However, to her surprise, she did have two customers while Gareth was away. In fact, they seemed rather familiar with the place, and other than giving her a few sideways glances, easily found what they were looking for and paid with exact change, no less. The only thing about them was that they looked rather strange. One was a tall, slim woman with pointed ears (must be prosthetics, right?) dressed in a rough, leathery outfit, and the other was a man so short he could barely see over the counter, although his long beard reached past his waist, nearly covering his rather glittery outfit. Maybe there was some sort of cosplay club that frequented the store?
Just as Charlotte was debating borrowing one of the dusty old books to read just to pass the time, Gareth returned.
"Well, you seem to have things under control," Gareth stated roughly before quickly heading to the back to sort out the oddly-shaped packages he was carrying. From the way he said it, Charlotte wasn't sure if he was satisfied or disappointed. Since it seemed like Gareth was busy with his own things, Charlotte sighed, assuming she would be stuck as a cashier for the rest of the day, maybe the rest of her employment there. Maybe she should have brought her own book to read, or a game perhaps. Just as she leaned her elbows on the counter with her chin in her hands, Gareth unexpectedly popped into her field of vision.
"I suppose you'll do," Gareth stood before Charlotte, his arms crossed over his chest, looking her up and down. "But we must do something about that look. Customers can become problematic when dealing with an obvious newbie."
Confused, Charlotte looked at herself, wondering if she perhaps had spilled coffee on herself or maybe had her outfit on wrong. No, she was appropriately and professionally dressed in a neat pantsuit, even though she wasn't in an office job. What was so bad about what she was wearing?
"Let's see, why don't we try this?" Gareth ignored Charlotte's discomfiture, and placed something on the counter in front of her.
