To the man’s surprise there was just a simple horse’s bridle and a few papers placed in a neat pile. He seemed slightly confused and underwhelmed at first, having expected some dangerous experiment or ingenious formula.
He picked up the bridle and tossed it on to a nearby desk before he began flicking through the papers. His inquisitive look soon switched to one of confusion and then disbelief. “No way…” he trailed off as he re-read the words, clearly not believing what they said the first time.
‘Mind Control Bridle’ was the heading. It seemed completely unbelievable. “There’s no way this is real, is this part of some weird practical joke or something?” He looked up at Jenny, who simply shook her head. “So this really works?” he asked the horse again. She raised her head and shuffled about slightly, as if to say ‘I don’t know.’
“Interesting…” the attended said as he thought for a moment. Surely there was no way that this thing could actually work. But what if it did? There could be limitless uses for such technology and, more importantly, considerable wealth for whoever ‘discovered’ it.
He continued to read the notes in fascinated curiosity. The bridle would allegedly make the wearer follow any commands issued to them. It was intended for use on the most obstinate of horses, but the attendant began to imagine some more entertaining uses for the device.
He looked up to check that Jenny wasn’t watching before he whispered a quiet message into his radio.
Jenny was startled a few moments later when three more attendants suddenly entered the office. She then heard a loud click as the door was locked. She began to panic as the three new arrivals began to herd her into a corner of the room.
Meanwhile, the head attendant slowly approached with the bridle in his hand. “Now open wide doc…”
