Mary's slimy fingers picked up the return vial. The glass container had been anomalously been refilled.
"What will happen to me if I drink this?" "What will happen to my two heads?"
"I shouldn't drink the whole think." "Split it between my heads."
Mary pour the contents of the vial into two, separate, plastic cups. She made sure to leave about half of the return vial behind. "Together." "Bottoms up." Mary's heads chugged the transforming liquid.
Quickly, her skin started to dry up. No more slimy Mary. Then her slug tail started to recede into her waist. Her skin returned to its original pigmentation. Mary felt discomfort in her reformed spine and the area between her heads. The magical return vial did not like Mary's twin heads. Rather that returning her completely back to normal, the magic of the vial was pulling her apart.
Two, duplicate Mary's tumbled to the ground. "Ouch! My hip." "Whoa! I split completely in two." Mary's two minds where still connected someone. Mary had two bodies, but there was only one Mary calling the shots.
"Is everything back to normal?" "Aside from the 'two bodies' bit?"
"Hey, I still have eye-stalks." "And I still have six fingers on one hand."
"I wonder if I still have that strange healing ability." "Cut off my extra finger."
Mary's body grabbed the knife and slammed it down on her redundant finger. Suprisingly, there was no blood. And, soon enough, two more fingers grew to replace what was lost.
"Hey!" "Hey!" Mary's head cheered in unison.
"What happeneds now?" "What's next?"
