Now we return to the following morning, when Luke and Ethan finished their tug-of-war fusion game.
"Luke, this has been fun," Ethan told his son, "but I think we've had enough tug-of-war for a while. How 'bout we just change our fusion back to last night's?"
"Alright dad, just give me a minute," Luke replied. Using their fusion powers, father and son separated from each other's backs, turning back into a forty-year-old man and an eighteen-year-old teenager. Then, they moved so their sides were touching, and fused back into a two-headed body with two arms and three legs, the middle one shared between them. Ethan was on their left side because he was left-handed, and Luke on their right because he was right-handed.
"What should we do now?" Luke asked his father.
"Well, we still have some time before your cousin Evan flies in the airport," Ethan answered. "How about we try something that involves our arms for a little while before we share breakfast?"
Luke replied, "If you mean what happened last night, we could wait until the shower."
"Not that," said Ethan. "I mean, we share a body but we each still have an arm of our own, in both cases our dominant arm. How about we find out how conjoined twins arm-wrestle?"
Luke thought about it, and decided that it would be fun to find out how that worked. The duo sat their shared body down on the couch, leaned over, and set their elbows on the coffee table. Luke and Ethan turned their heads towards each other and began to clasp each other's hand. Ethan counted to three, and they began.
It was a little awkward and unusual at first, but after a while the competition seemed normal for them. Being older, Ethan was stronger, but both he and Luke still had their dominant arm, so Luke still won a fair number of rounds. After a while, the two decided to stop, agreeing that they were getting too hungry to continue properly.
"Let's just get some food in our stomach and get ready for today," Ethan said while reaching for his clothes. "I'll call the school and cancel for you so we can do a little more bonding before Evan gets here."
"Sounds good, dad," Luke replied as he reached for his clothes. "By the way, do you think Evan should know about any of this? The suit, our powers, and our friends? I mean, he and Zack are good friends and the same age..."
"Not yet," Ethan answered, "but when Evan finds out on his own, we'll break it to him. Then we'll see how he reacts."
