Terry decided he might as well get some tanning done as well, and while the girls were out playing in the pool, he rolled out a towel and set himself up by the side of the pool. Putting his hands behind his neck, Terry really felt like he could enjoy himself out here. Maybe it was a vacation after all - one he would be VERY glad to return from, but a vacation nonetheless. He heard someone sit down next to him and looked over to see it was Duke sitting next to him.
"Hey man, how's things?" Terry asked, tilting his head back to where it was.
"You know, after what happened while we were about 16 to 18 back in Jess' place, I started thinking about things." Duke seemed to be playing it cool.
"Lots of stuff happened then," Terry said, and then continued, "What specifically do you mean?"
Duke looked off to the side, evidently embarrassed by it, "Y-You know..."
"C'mon man, we're supposed to be more mature than stuttering over something like this." Terry responded, trying to get it out of him. He was starting to wonder what could've made D so unnerved...
Duke finally breathed and looked at Terry in the eyes, "...Alright. I'll say. Remember when the girls had us, uh...make out?"
Terry started to realize where this was going, and he nodded, "...Yeah...?"
"Well, the more I thought about it, the more I realized something." Duke said with a slight blush to his features, "Like...I really like Jess. When we were all grown up, she was beautiful, smart and savvy. But Terry...truth is, my eyes were not entirely closed. Doing that with you, it felt like, really good. I'm not all the way caught up on sexuality, I know I'm not gay. I like Jess, and I do, but I like you...in the same kinda way I like Jess."
Terry, being someone with a daughter quite in the know, did come up with something, "Maybe you're just straight with an exception?"
"Can that be how it works?" Duke mused outloud, "I...thought I'd need some kinda label for it. So I could really get what it was, and work with it. Because Terry? Wrestling with you before we all regressed that final time, I really liked it."
Terry turned flush and wondered what Duke would do when the hormones started flowing again and they started to return to normal ages, "...W-Well, if you wanna wrestle again, maybe we can."
"Come on guys! Jess and I are tired and ready to go home!" Sarah and Jess were now standing over by the way out. Terry looked at Duke and saw that his best friend was blushing a little. Terry extended a hand to him, and helped Duke up.
With that the two of them followed behind their girlfriends on the way home.
