“Mia what just happened,” Zack asked as the two children exited the cabin. Mia could only shrug, nothing that just happened made much sense to the two children. “I have no idea Zack,” she said. “One minute the monsters try to kidnap me, then they’re talking with Jack and the others. All I know is you better change back, theirs a lot of people around.”
Zack paused, gazing over his beastly form before uttering a quiet apology. Focusing his power the giant wolf beast now began to shrink down once more, his muscles lessening as his fur vanished while his face became human once more. In only a few seconds Zack had reverted once more to his human form. “Wow Zack your getting really good at your transformation,” Mia said. “Your clothes are still intact.”
“Thanks,” he said meekly. “It was starting to get really embarrassing being almost naked all the time.” Mia could only giggle at her friend as the two children stared out towards where everyone was standing. As they were Mia paused, they recognized someone. Turning towards her familiar she now wanted an answer. “Rexie is that Gloria?”
Rexie was still in her familiar form, (a small black and white tabby with blue eyes) squinting her yes she could easily confirm that it was indeed Gloria Turner. “Yeah that’s her,” she said.
“How come she’s older,” Zack asked. Rexie chuckled as he looked up at Mia’s friend. The two children really weren’t all to familiar with the alternate timelines yet. “Well Zack,” Rexie stated. “That Gloria is from a different timeline. It’s the same timeline that the older Mika and Claudia come from.” Zack and Mia could only nod before an impish smile spread across their faces. “We should go talk with her,” Zack smirked.
“You sure that’s a good idea,” Rexie asked. Mia nodded, bending down to look her familiar in her eye. “Yes I do,” she stated. “I mean, Gloria is our friend. I want to know if this one is just like our friend.”
“And if Jackie is here too,” Zack grinned. Rexie could only sigh as she now accompanied the two children as they walked towards Gloria.
Gloria was pleasantly surprised with how well things were going. Katie and her friends seems to be taking to magic rather quickly. While she still needed to talk with Katie to find out why everyone was being trained, she had a feeling they would be ready for anything. The sound of her name being called surprised her though. Glancing back she now curiously gazed at two children an a cat now making their way towards her. “Can I help you,” she asked.
Zack and Mia stopped short of Gloria, looking upwards as they studied Gloria. “Wow it is her,” Zack said in awe. “Yeah just older,” Mia added. Gloria raised an eyebrow as she studied the two children, she could already sense a great deal of magic emanating off the two. “Do we know eachother.”
“Kind of,” Mia smiled. “Well at least we know you. From what Rexie told me your from a different timeline or something.”
“Umm Yea,” Gloria said, still slightly confused. “By the way whose Rexie.”
Mia now gestured down to her cat that now looked up at Gloria with interest. “Your cat talks to you,” Gloria asked. “Rexie is no ordinary cat,” Zack chuckled. “She’s magic, go ahead Rexie show her.” Rexie now looked towards Mia, who nodded. In a flash the familiar now morphed into her imp form, hovering above the ground as she grumpily looked at Gloria. Gloria for her part let out a small shriek as she jumped in place, she had never seen an imp before. Rexie for her part grinned, showing off the needle like teeth that lined her mouth. “Rexie stop scaring Gloria,” Mia said sternly. “We wanted to see what this Gloria is like not scare her.”
“Ugh fine,” Rexie sighed. Gloria now watched as the imp transformed yet again, this time taking on the appearance of a punky and skinny teenage girl, perhaps the same age as the doppelgängers of this timeline. “Sorry about Rexie,” Mia said sheepishly. “She likes to play pranks.”
Gloria could only nod, still in a stupor at having finally met an actual demon. “No it’s um okay,” She stammered. “I’m just, surprised. Does the other me know about her?”
“No we haven’t told the other you and our friends about Rexie,” Mia said. “She’s kind of our little secret.” Gloria nodded once more. She had so many questions now about not only the other her but about this girl who was apparently a friend in this timeline. Gloria’s quiet vacation was about to take an interesting turn.
