"I have a question... we have a one tail kitsune here... but Lilith was able to turn an eight-tails back into a one-tail herself... and we have more age magic than we know what to do with. So why don't we just age-progress her into a celestial fox?"
"Unless you feel like altering reality itself to a laughable degree, that's a bad idea, heck, it would STILL be a bad idea! Same reason our shape shifter here becomes a juvenile dragon rather than a big nasty building sized adult one! If we aged her up WITHOUT altering reality, she'd quickly go drunk with the new magic she'd have, her brain would be floating in it. And if we did it WITH altering reality, it would mean she was born a thousand years in the past, and we'd all just be recent additions to her very very long life, all those centuries of experiences would make her NOT the same person anymore! Our sometimes dragon would retroactively have been worshiping Tiamat for centuries for all we know. No! That's why! Without altering reality that surge of power would addle their wits, and WITH altering reality it would give them centuries of life experiences that would make them fundamentally different people!"
"She speaks the truth human, fast tracks to power always come with a price, even if it's not immediately obvious."
"Do you really think our friends wouldn't care about us anymore if they had just lived a few extra centuries?"
"... I didn't just get turned into a kitsune and come back. I lived for eighteen years with my new family, then given my memories having once been human, and with wonky time magic manipulation returned to this point where my human life left off. It's not about not caring about you, any of you. Instead of seeing my kind as impossibly long lived, now I see humans like flowers, blooming into beauty and then wilting away when I look away. I made an oath to my family, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, this is hard for you to understand but I love them like I love all of you... but I also don't want to lose my connection with you. Trust me, speeding up the process would only lead to trouble. Besides, there is literally nothing from stopping me from increasing my magical ability the old fashioned way. That was good enough before, and it's good enough now!"
