"Well, Dan, you're transformation is coming along nicely, I see," said his sister as she appeared out of nowhere about 20 minutes after Dan's legs finished growing in.
"Kat! I'm turning into a lobster, you've gotta help me," he said, instinctively getting up off the couch onto all eight legs.
"It doesn't seem to me like you need much help, Dan, you're already adjusting quite well to your new form."
It was then that Dan realized that he hadn't just stood up on his regular legs, but he had seamlessly made use of the side-growths from his abdomen. He stepped forward and backward a little bit, feeling his new legs take effortless steps and take turns holding up his body. His original legs way at the back didn't feel any different from his other legs now, and they didn't really look much different either. He hadn't even noticed them changing!
"Face it, Dan, part of you knows that deep down you're meant to be a lobster. I would never have guessed that your spirit animal was so... unflattering... but I think you're really enjoying this a little bit. Don't worry, you're going to have plenty more new parts to play with than those extra legs and pinchers soon enough," she said, and went in the kitchen for a snack.
Dan wanted to plead with her some more to change him back, but he was just too caught up walking around in circles with his new locomotion. By the time he followed her in there, she had vanished again, and Dan was left to wait for his next change alone. Of course, Kat hadn't left without making the special gesture of setting out a frozen lobster on the table to thaw.
