Miranda, Jeff's owner, led him away from her bedroom. Miranda kept talking and Jeff occasionally caught a word she was saying. His mind kept drifting to finding more food and taking a nap. His owner pet his head, making him wag his butt.
"How did you get in there boy?" Miranda asked, "You're really smart aren't you?" Jeff panted. The two walked down the stairs, Jeff having to be extra careful on all fours. They moved on to the living room, Miranda sitting down on the couch. Jeff jumped up beside her and immediately Miranda snapped her fingers at him.
"No pets on the furniture." Jeff whimpered but Miranda pointed at the floor, and finally Jeff hopped off. Instead he went over to his water bowl in the kitchen and lapped some up. As Jeff finished, he stared at himself in the water bowl. In the back of his mind he knew something was different about him. Something had changed.
Jeff stared at his reflection. A thin, nude human boy in a dog collar, with short cut hair. Nope, everything looked normal. So why was he feeling off? Jeff turned and ran off, back to the living room. He scooped up a chew toy in his mouth and sat down at his owners feet, chewing on it. Miranda occasionally stroked the boy's head, telling him what a good boy he was.
