With dawning realization, he was now trapped as a dirty, smelly old donkey! His belly fur covered in it's....his now....own piss! One second he was standing there as his own normal self, except under a spell he couldn't resist. Standing there staring at this obnoxious creature inside a dark caged in room behind bars, like it was in prison or something. Next second, he was staring through the bars to the outside world AS that obnoxious creature!
"Hee hhaaww hhhee Hhhaaww!!!"
And he couldn't even speak!
That witch said something about his mind and soul switching with that donkey. Soooo....that means that donkey's mind and soul is in his body! Which means.....
"Oh god, i gotta get out of here!" thought James.
"Hhheee hhaaww hhheeee hhaawww hhheee hhhaawww!!"
"Dammit! I don't have the physical ability to talk! My body does....my old body. And a creature who doesn't understand language is inhabiting it! While I'm inhabiting a body that cannot physically speak!"
"Hhhee Hhhaaww hhhee Hhhaaww hhhee hhhaawww" he tried anyway. But all the zoo-goers just ignored his pleas.
He wanted to grasp the bars and yell for help. His dirty, hard front right hoof just clanged against the bar. "Hhee Hhhaaww hhhee Hhhaaww," James continued to shout. The words "help! Help meeee!!" lost in the high-pitched tones of an annoyed jackass bray.
Suddenly, the boy reappeared. His body! The boy stood there, looking at him dumbly. Wearing his clothes. James was staring back at what he had lost.
"Hhee Hhhaaww" he tried one more time. The boy just stood there and blinked. Arms at his sides. A blank stare. He cocked his head, then went up to the bars to start licking them. Like some dumb animal. That is, of course, what is possessing James's former body.
Suddenly, the witch Kayla reappeared. She gleefully said "hi there again, you smelly old donkey! You having fun yet?"
"Hhee hhaawww" was all James could manage.
"Of course you are!"
The donkey-possessed James stopped licking the bars to his pen, and stood there looking down at his hands, as if noticing them for the first time. He started making wierd sharp moaning sounds. James heard his body fart, then smelled it with his enhanced sense of smell!
James body then bent over and placed his hands on his knees. Then all the sudden, James could smell shit! Human shit!
"Hahaha! OMG, James just shit himself! Now he's pissing his pants!!! Hahaha!!"
Panicking with humiliation and with a sense of urgency, James the donkey brayed even louder and more despraretly.
"Here hhaaw hhhee Hhhaaww hhhee hhhaawww!!!"
"Hey! You two! Quit agitating my donkey, will ya!?" came a voice from James left.
The zookeeper walked towards them, and Kaylee turned to look squarely at James in the eye. She sent him a telepathic message:
"The first time you go to sleep in your current form will seal your soul completely with that body. No going back. Ever!
If you manage to convince someone that you are not only a human inside that filthy body, but are able to demonstrate just which human before you fall asleep, you shall switch back with the current occupant of your body. Failure to do so, will not only seal your soul inside that filthy gross body, but you will lose the ability to understand any and all spoken and written language. Your current intelligence will be left intact, that way you can experience the full effect of your donkeyhood. Feel the utter humiliation at what you are, and the feeling of being trapped. It will also give you a perfect photgraphic memory of what you look like to the outside world. How filthy and scummy your teeth are, as well as the rest of your body. Including your most intimate parts."
"However, I will not be completely cruel. If should you fail to switch back, I will grant you your body back for one hour every year. From 11:00 PM until midnight every Halloween, you'll get to be back in the human body of your birth."
"Same goes with the donkey in your body. Should he fall asleep before you switch, he will also be bound to that body. You'll know when that occurs when you can no longer understand spoken words, and become ultra-aware of your outward appearance without the need for a mirror."
"Good luck! You're going to need it! Tah tah for now!" she said, laughing, as she walked away. Leaving James with a hell of a challenge.
The zookeeper didn't bother stopping her.
"Hhhee hhaaw hhhee Hhhaaww!!" James tried calling after her. He wanted to ask some questions. But she disappeared around the corner and from his life for good.
